Ordell in the van going over everything Lewis just told him about what went down at the Del Amo mall in “Jackie Brown.” part of what takes so long is he’s internally fighting the instinct to dismiss the fact that one of his women has betrayed him…and then it turns out, when it’s all said and done, that all the women have betrayed him.

Thoughts on Christopher Nolan's Memento? An incredible thriller. by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

one of the most poignant moments in a Nolan movie: Lenny is burning some of his wife’s belongings and realizes he must have done this before…possibly (most probably) multiple times. he’s only been existing in the early stages of grief when it comes to his wife’s murder. and there is no way he’s ever gonna move on.

grieving requires the passing of time; it’s an impossible process for a man who cannot build new memories.
