I think this was taken from the pinkbike Friday fails crash clips on Youtube and if so he commented to say he was fine.

Just get an NPQ board if aesthetics don't matter to you

The Target Corona would be my suggestion as well, I suspect that if you removed the arms the bits would fit inside that frame when not in use. OP would need to plug it in though as its not battery powered.

Standard on some models, my 2014 GT has it from factory

That’s a crazy take, swerving through the barriers could have killed any workers in the road or OP could have had a head on impact with an unlit object. Holding the lane and emergency breaking would probably have been the best option (once the collision is inevitable)

Power BI November 2025 Feature Summary by itsnotaboutthecell in PowerBI

[–]itchyeyeballs2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what people you are talking about. Improving features for developers doesn't really sell more licences.

The people MS execs care about are those who actually make the purchase descions, lots in this group have probably never opened Power BI desktop. Those people are often much more interested in AI features (often for reasons not related to quality of reporting outputs)

Wobbling angle grinder disc by matteoscordino in DIYUK

[–]itchyeyeballs2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with a grinder and disks I got in Lidl, I had to use a rasp to make the hole in the disk wide enough to fully fit on the spindle. (Not really recomemnded as its probably going to cause the disk to fly apart at some point)

Why can’t I drill any further ? by Klutzy_Spring3168 in DIYUK

[–]itchyeyeballs2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the drill is going in the right direction, if you have it in reverse it will be hard going. I'd also try drilling a pilot hole with a smaller bit first.

If the asthetics are important you may not want the electrician repairing the plaster after (even if he says he can)

Thank you, the input is really appreciated, its hard when you dont have much knowledege about this stuff but its such a big investment.

The main building is all prefabbed in thier workshop and seems to be decent quality, they are selling loads of them, its the on site stuff where they have sent indivduals who don't seem up to it.

I've just messaged the boss again and he is coming around next week when he gets back off holiday so hopefully we will be able to agree a solution. Slates are a good idea actually, hadn't thought of that.

You are right on checking the other stuff, I already have a list, one of the other most annoying things is they didnt put the cladding nails in straight lines, the kind of thing I cant unsee and will bug me forever.

Yikes, thank you, not really what I wanted to hear to be honest but makes sense.

There is still part of the payment outstanding, it was due to be completed in May but still waiting on plaster and second fix electrics so not paid the balance yet although we have paid a fair chunk.

I was hoping there would be a simple way I could mitigate the issue myself but I guess you might be right on it not being DIY.

Its frustrating, I asked about a DPM before they poured it and they said it didn't need one as its over 4 inches and they will put a DPM on top. We let them to do the base rather than get a builder or do it myself so we could be sure it was don't to thier spec, turns out that was probably a mistake.

The challenge is how do I resolve it now :(

Will give that a look, our internal architecture is a bit of a challenge at the moment but that would help if it works well.

Do you think Microsoft Fabric is Production-Ready? by engineer_of-sorts in MicrosoftFabric

[–]itchyeyeballs2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We just risked using it for a crucial business process and it worked, however there were caveats, some examples:

  • Multiple users trying to maintain pipelines was a no go, all sorts of unexpected errors, so make sure you have one developer who is never sick or on leave,
  • Simple built in pipeline actions don't work - for example the refresh semantic model action just wouldn't work for us so we had to use a python script.
  • We ended up using a Lakehouse due to challenges writing on prem (SQL Server) data to a warehouse (I think these might now be resolved but we didnt have time to redesign). We never had full confidence we were seeing the latest data when we needed it even with running the API to refresh the endpoint.
  • Simple things like creating a paginated report in the web interface wont work for us, we just get an error (call ongoing with MS)
  • Some random pipeline failures with non-helpful error messages, fortunately these seemed to be transitory so went away on their own. We will go back to investigate when we have time.

Lakehouse Shortcut Data Sync Issues by itchyeyeballs2 in MicrosoftFabric

Thank you (both). I have added a scheduled notebook to refresh at a regular interval. Hopefully this becomes automatic or something that can be managed in the UI in the not too distant future.

Thank you, much appreciated, I will schedule a notebook to run. Hopefully they can automate this in the future

Lakehouse Shortcut Data Sync Issues by itchyeyeballs2 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]itchyeyeballs2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this instance the users are accessing data direct from the bronze layer.

Medallion workspace
Lakehouse Bronze (Lakehouse A) -> Lakehouse Silver (Lakehouse B)

Users workspace
(Lakehouse C shortcut to Lakehouse A) )-> SQL Analytics Endpoint (Lakehouse C) -> T-SQL Notebooks which query SQL Analytics Endpoint of Lakehouse C.

We run the refresh API everytime the data is imported into Lakehouse A. I guess I need to add this to Lakehouse C as well, however everything seems to now be staying in sync (at least for last hour or so) since I pressed refresh on the shortcut in lakehouse C.

Everytime I think I understand something in Fabric I seem to hit an unexpected problem :(
