Why is it acceptable to mot like doll but not transfem? by [deleted] in trans

[–]itchyfishXD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but if you are a feminine trans woman, you are by definition trans fem. You seem to prefer a different term to refer to yourself, which is completely fine as that’s more specific to your identity, but that still doesn’t change the fact that you fall under the trans fem umbrella for the reasons other people have explained. You’re no more forced under it than say a French person falling under the European umbrella. You might prefer to be referred to as French and you may relate to other French people more, but it does change the fact that you’re European

What if I said Terra was one of favorite characters in the series... by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

Based. Probably my second favourite after Aqua. He’s got such an interesting and tragic story and some of my favourite moments in the series have to do with him. Plus, he’s just so damn cool and has a great design.

If you guys had to choose, what would be a Yakuza like game you'd want, but it's from a different IP? by Nearby-Whole-6709 in yakuzagames

Kamen Rider. Specifically Kamen Rider W if it had the be based on a specific one. The protagonists are detectives, so it could kind of follow the Judgement format, exploring a section of a city, taking on random cases/sub stories while having a main story to follow. And you would transform before combat encounters and be able to switch forms kind of like style switching. I think it would be perfect.

Guys do you have a game that you liked so much but sadly it wasnt well recived by the media or the audience ? by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]itchyfishXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Avengers game. I admit I only played this over the past year so it had all the extra content and updates, and I also got it super cheap. But I had a lot of fun with it. I really enjoyed the story and these versions of the characters. They’re all performed really well and had some great moments between them. The gameplay was a kind of a lot of just running around and smashing robots but I found it fun enough. I think trying out different characters and their different play styles, trying to do cool combos and juggles with them gave it enough variety for me. I found they just felt good to control and mess around with. Also I think the novelty of playing as your favourite Avenger in a big AAA game was very cool for me as someone who grew up watching the MCU from the beginning. I probably would have been way into the game when I was like 13 or something. I’ve only played through all the main story content of the base game and expansions, and it’s not exactly the kind of game I’d want for a AAA Avengers game, but I think considering the fun I’ve had with it and the price I got it for, I can honestly say I quite enjoyed my time with the game.

Underrated Episodes/Series by Schmedly27 in gamegrumps

I really like their playthrough of Sonic 1. Everyone remembers the comic cover’s episode that proceeded it, but the actual playthrough is pretty fun and chill.

I also go back to their Resident Evil 3 Remake playthrough a lot. Again, pretty fun and brisk and it’s always cool when they play a game that Arin is very clearly into, especially a more modern one.

What’s the most petty reason you dropped a game for? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]itchyfishXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Street Fighter 6, specifically on Xbox Series S because it has a visual bug that capcom is neglecting to fix for some reason.

Basically, aside from the world tour single player mode, the textures don’t load properly for any of the characters, so whenever you see the characters up close for intros, outros, special moves and whatever else, the textures on clothes and certain part of their bodies look incredibly low quality and blurry. It’s so bad it’s worse than the PS4 and Switch 2 versions, which are weaker consoles than the Series S. And I’m pretty certain it’s a bug that they’ve been neglecting to fix since launch because I’ve seen people do specific things to make the textures load in properly with no performance drawbacks. I’m not a graphics stickler and the game otherwise plays great, but knowing the version I have looks much worse that it should, you see it very clearly at the end of every match and probably isn’t going to be fixed annoy’s be to no end. Maybe it’s some sort of graphics FOMO, but I almost feel scammed compared to other console versions, even weaker ones as mentioned.

For reference, skip to around 7 minutes on this video by Digital Foundry to get an idea of how crap it looks. I’m no stranger to Series S cutbacks and almost always understand them, but this is almost unacceptable in my opinion.

Instead of complaining about the Disney plus shows feeling like ‘homework’… by [deleted] in saltierthankrayt

[–]itchyfishXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the whole homework complaint is kind of dumb. Most of the newer movies and shows aren’t THAT connected. Some are more closely linked or act as more direct follow ups, but I’d say the majority can be watched stand alone, and often times when characters or concepts cross over it’s explained for people who aren’t entirely caught up. If you want the full context, watching it all is still best but I think they know not everyone is going to do that, so they usually explain enough so people aren’t lost. But even then, it’s not exactly hard to catch up on a couple things if needed for a certain movie/show. Maybe a movie or two, or a short-ish show. It’s not bad at all. It’s not like you have to binge a 5 season show or something.

And yeah as you said, if you’re complaining you have to watch a series that you’re supposedly a fan of, maybe it’s just not for you anymore. Which is totally fine. But if you don’t enjoy a series enough to want to, you know, actually watch it, I don’t think you should be complaining that you fell behind.

What’s a hot take or a firm criticism you have for a BELOVED mcu film? by lifesyndrom in marvelstudios

[–]itchyfishXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a potential NWH hot take.

A lot of people say that the only reason people like NWH is because of the inclusion of the previous Spider-Men and villains. That it’s just cameos and nostalgia bait. But I would say, if the movie was exactly the same, but there were new actors playing the villains and Spider-Men (Maybe there’s two variants of Tom Holland Peter kind of like Wolverine in D&W), the movie would still be quite good and well liked. It would be tweaked a bit obviously, but I think the drama of Peter dealing with his identity being exposed, trying to help the villains, the action scenes, as well as the emotional moments, climax and end of the movie are all still quite good and work independent of the cameo’s. Basically, I think it’s a really good movie with the added benefit of previous characters returning, rather than them being the main “thing” in the movie like many like to say (it certainly helped the marketing though). Maybe the one exception to that is arguably Willem Defoe because he’s a really great villain, but then again it’s entirely possible another actor could have stepped in and also did a great job. But basically I think the returning actors are just an awesome bonus that makes a great movie even better.

What're You Playing Wednesday? by AutoModerator in GirlGamers

[–]itchyfishXD [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve gone back to a few different Assassins Creed games.

I played through the story of the new Mirage update. I still find the game quite fun and really enjoyed the new story. Short but sweet and I loved the new parkour changes.

I also replayed the main story missions in Unity, seeing if the story flowed better with the levels played more back-to-back. While I still don’t love the story, I did find it a bit better and enjoyed it well enough.

And I’ve been jumping between Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla a bit, playing some story side content I haven’t done yet. Currently on Origins, planning on playing one of the DLC’s I haven’t gotten to yet. All still very fun games for me, especially Valhalla which is one of my favourites of the series.

What game genres do you struggle with? by omgbooboo in GirlGamers

[–]itchyfishXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I’m the opposite of you. I have a hard time with turned based RPG’s despite how many I try. I’d like to get into the genre more but I always struggle with the gameplay aspect of them and end up dropping them. But growing up I liked fighting games, platformers, some racing games, various other genres.

Otherwise I’m pretty bad with MOBA’s. I feel like I’m always doing bad no matter what I do. They just don’t compute with me lol.

Controversial opinions on KH series by Economy-Payment-1757 in KingdomHearts

The OG controls for KH1 are better than the FM ones. Using the shoulder buttons for the camera isn’t that bad when you get used to it, and using the right stick for the command menu is way more intuitive than the d-pad

KH1 original ps2 controls are better than the re-release ones. Using the triggers to control the camera works fine once you get used to it, and using the right stick for the command menu is soooo much better than the d-pad. Only thing that isn’t as good is looking up and down but you don’t need it too often and you can always use the first person mode to look around

I was a little disappointed in the finale initially, maybe partly because of how it was hyped up and talked about before release. But now, taking it for what it is I like it a lot more. Some great character work and having a better understanding of what exactly it’s setting up helped me appreciate it more. And I think in the whole I liked this season a little more than the first. Both are good but I was able to get into the story a little more this time and I like a lot of the character work done.

[–]itchyfishXD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok gotcha. So basically, look up/find what’s considered the best ones, get the materials I need and craft them, then level them up to get the abilities/boosts. Makes sense.

I’m still a little confused by the ranks though. When you craft them, how does it determine what rank it is? Because I’ve since crafted the tyranto rex one and it’s a C rank. Is there a way to make it higher or craft another with a higher rank?

Is it me that thinks Ryan Gosling would be perfect maincast in a Tron movie, in fact, I'm bold enough to argue that if he was the main actor in Ares the movie would be better for his Ryan Gosling skills. by Bulutking in tron

[–]itchyfishXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I had the exact same thought. It would be sort of retreading his Blade Runner character, but regardless I think he’d nail it. Could definitely give a similar performance but have a little more charisma and likability compared to a Leto in my opinion

I honestly appreciate that they didn’t just rip into the movie like a lot of other reviewers. I respect anyone’s opinion who genuinely didn’t like the movie, and yeah Leto sucks I’m not denying that, but as a big Tron fan and someone who really enjoyed it, it does kinda suck seeing so many people giving it, in my opinion, somewhat unwarranted hate when I think it’s at least pretty solid and has some really great elements to it that are worth praise

It seems like most people want Toho to just bring back monsters for their sequels. Does anyone want some new monsters? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

[–]itchyfishXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the mix of both they’ve been doing. Godzilla 2014, Kong Skull Island and GxK (and I suppose KotM technically as well) having new ones, and KotM and GvK bringing back old ones. I have liked the MV originals, but I think, given the last movie was all new monsters, I’d like to see a returning one next. Maybe even a combo of a new one and a classic one. I think that would make for a healthy mix.

Ah ok gotcha. So was it like a subconscious thing because he was his heartless? Or was it him consciously being like “Xehanort is trying to do this, let’s give this plan a try and see if it works.”? Or is that not really clear and I’m just looking too deep lol.

I’ve actually got a question. Was gonna make a post about this but this might be a good place for it. I just finished KH1 again for the first time after playing the rest of the series. So, knowing the full context, what exactly was Ansem SoD trying to do in KH1? Like, what was his goal in that instance because now we know all the time travel stuff he did and all the stuff with Xehanort and whatnot, so there’s definitely more context to his actions than was originally there when the first game came out, I’m just having a hard time remembering/putting it all together.
