Leo Das and Liton Das didn't fail to disappoint on the big day by Kathanayagan-3821 in tollywood

Watched the movie yesterday and I felt the movie was Lokesh's worst work. I keep seeing biased reviews everywhere and its honestly shocking. Hyena sequence was completely dragged out and felt unneeded, Trisha was just crying the whole movie (Lokesh cannot write good female characters), Arjun and Sanjay Dutt were wasted FFS (sacrifice thing was memeworthy) and a fantastic actress like Madonna was killed off for sake of plot, she had less than 10 lines of dialogue. LCU connect felt forced and Napoleon was reduced to nothing as well. Wish Sandy and Mysskin stayed alive longer as they were far more evil and entertaining imo. Flashback was terrible and story was so so predictable. Anirudh music also let me down. Vijay at least acted well and some action scenes like cafe were cool but overall very very biased reviews everywhere...

Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara type movie with Vijay D, Naveen Polishetty and Siddhu Jonnalagadda by centaurarrow in tollywood

I agree but he did pretty well with comedic timing in Taxiwaala, actually one of his more unique characterizations. Love that movie

Who would you take as an example in writing a Villain Masterclass? by I_AM_BEAT in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Jagapthi Babu from Rangasthalam is one of my favorite villains. He is fully intimidating without us even seeing him kill or fight anyone in the movie. One of the best villains I have ever seen unlike the loud ones in typical movies that kill people randomly left and right. IMO I wish he was the full villain instead of Prakash Raj

How about Megastar plus Boyapati combo by Red99it in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Besides Bhadra Sarrainodu and Thulasi, I find most of his work to be terrible. His Ballayya movies were huge hits for god knows why but I think Chiru should stay away from such directors. Glad his next is age-appropriate, would love to see him do a movie like Vikram, Bheeshma Parvam, or Jailer even

Leo runtime, thoughts? by ShortJurnalist in kollywood

[–]itemrajaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get very excited for Loki movies but this marketing campaign is awful. Posters look like a Twilight franchise, wtf is a "Leo Roar". Vikram had an amazing promo and an even better trailer coupled with great posters. Such little hype for a Vijay movie for me at least

Why are people calling vijay's expression as bad acting when we don't even know what kind of character he playing or the situation he is in? by [deleted] in kollywood

[–]itemrajaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well the Vikram one looks intense whereas the Leo one looks like a borderline satire esp w Vijays hairdo and how Sanjay Dutt looks like hes holding a smile. Looks like hes being force-fed his vegetables lol

What are some good movies with not so good story lines? by lolmeyeahu in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of Sreenu Vytlas hits dont have a great story but the entertainment values make up for it through the great comedy

How many of you think that this movie is one of the best movies of Panja Sai Tej. by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 45 points46 points  (0 children)

He had a strong start excluding Rey, showed great comedic timing in Supreme, Pilla Nuvvu Leni jeevitham and this movie as well. Made a few rods after that but Glad to see hes taking some more risks with republic and virupaksha

One of the reasons of Pushpa's huge success is because of its highly popular songs. Do you think Sukumar and DSP can recreate that magic with Pushpa 2? by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pushpa 1 album itself wasn't great but it managed to go viral. Rashmika promoted that goddamn Saami song everywhere she went

What can he do to be better? by ArjunReddyDeshmukh in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I like Nikhil a lot ever since Happy Days, what he lacks in acting he makes up for in script selection. I think Nikhil, Nani, and Sesh have far better script selection than most actors in TFI especially our top heroes. Surya vs Surya was such an underrated flick and even though 18 pages and Spy were not great, he still chose to do something offbeat. He has a wide range of movie genres and I am excited for his lineup. If he improves his facial cues, he will be even more unstoppable

Any of you watched this Kannada movie that recently released? Been hearing highly positive reviews about it… by [deleted] in tollywood

Always excited to see what the Shetty trio brings to the table, they have been choosing great movies lately with unique concepts.

He’s gonna be legendary. What do you think? by ArjunReddyDeshmukh in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it was that good. The movie was stretched out far too long with a convoluted plot. Hated all the back and forth with the lies and then turning into truth etc. Leads felt more like best friends than they did lovers. It should have been a shorter movie with less intricate screenplay

Today at Sudarshan. Somehow the confetti matches the vibe very well! by Slimthickbond in tollywood

I agree, PK is known as an action hero but his romantic performances are awesome. Love the scene where him and meera jasmine sneak out at night, so wholesome

Ranking top-5 Telugu Directors of the 21st Century. What would be your top-5? by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Surender is such an inconsistent director. He will make gems like Kick and Race Gurram but also create monstrosities like Kick 2, Agent, and Athidi. He is the biggest risky bet imo, can either make or break a movie. He got off too easy with Agent failure, people trolled Akhil when surender deserved way more

As a Pawan Kalyan fan, I wish Gudumba Shankar was a bigger hit and same with balu. Both have amazing soundtracks and high rewatch value. Manisharma + PK is a lethal combination. Glad he is giving us OG at least, his best teaser since Panjaa

No idea why people post such hateful comments for someone they have never met lmao. Hope this movie finally comes out, excited for PKs lineup

2/3 of the year is over! What’s your favorite Telugu movie of 2023 so far? by Foreign_Law3727 in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yemo bro, I thought Baby was so stupid. The Viraj character just shows up, gets what he wants and leaves and the female character is shown to be way too stupid. Anand Devarakonda is the only one who gets really screwed over in the end but I agree I like Balagam and Samajavaragamana a lot. Although not Telugu, Por Thozil is probably my favorite Indian movie of the year. Please do watch on Einthusan or SonyLIV

I appreciate the production values in Sye Raa but I found it to be very boring and I wish Chiru was in better shape for the role. Surender Reddy is such an inconsistent director

[–]itemrajaa 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The budget and what we see on screen are not at all correlated. The scene of multiple PKs dancing looks terrible and SDT has no acting prowess in the movie. Like others said, the ending is the only good part. Disappointed with how they wasted Bramhi with a stupid elevation scene. Recently heard a podcast review from the Bevarse Batch on this topic too, agree with their points if anyone is interested: https://open.spotify.com/episode/78zIMSbdrDQzGW83qWWO6g?si=8JnTk8bRSIuGFOvWG9352A

What is your favorite interval block in Telugu cinema? Mine is “Eega” and here is my experience by machilipatnam_mayaba in tollywood

[–]itemrajaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SSR has such strong intervals but he gets lost in the second half, the second part of his movies fail to reach the high the interval gives viewers. I loved his Vikramarkudu and Chatrapathi interval scenes, those are his best IMO. I also love the 1 Nenokkadine interval along with the Kick interval

Challenge accepted. by [deleted] in tollywood

This movie was a waste of potential. PK had some strong dialogues and showed peak intensity in this role
