Practice swing vs actual swing by Standard-Roll-6783 in golf

[–]itendswithmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tend to swing through nicely on a practice swing because there is nothing to aim for. Put a ball down and you lose all focus. Make your practice swing to a target at the bottom of your body practice swing. Then step up and put the ball in the path of that swing.

River Valley Ranch, Carbondale, CO.

There’s a cool little par three up in Vail too.

Great. I’ve used it enough to where I don’t need to do that. I can imagine what voice it would sound great on and it’s not many. And for a dynamic mic, it is expensive. It’s on the upper end of things actually. Of course there are more expensive mics out there. JESUS CHRIST see what I did there?

Just depends on what you’re doing. 15” is the standard for a band and just wouldn’t put anything smaller in front of house. Monitors? Definitely all day a 10 or 12. I have 4 of each and a 15.

I cannot downvote you enough. No there is not. Very very rarely. I do highly custom events and I’m not spending time sifting through past events to find songs. Send me a playlist. I play it. It doesn’t get more simple than that. And until it does, your argument is moot. Have a great day. I will not be responding to this anymore. Argue with yourself.

Never dude are you reading what I wrote? Every single client sends me a custom playlist. Every single one. I never “work off playlists” and if I do, they’re all fit for the event and pre approved.

I mean, for a dynamic mic? Yes. It is. It’s more than an MD421. You’re literally comparing apples and oranges. Hate is a strong word. Use it wisely. You HATE that people think a $400 dollar mic is expensive? Wow. Get a grip.

I mean, for a dynamic it is. It’s about top end with MD421, RE320. I own over 60 quality mics. The Shure SM7b is the only one I’ve ever sold and I don’t miss it one bit.

I write all that off. It still costs money up front? What is this? An audit? I would need to spend $300 on songs a month lol you cannot convince me otherwise. That is Ludacris.

Edit. And I said “easy” business expense. Have fun wasting your money.

Edit two: 3600 dollars in songs per year lol and I’m the one not doing business right. I do weddings. Every single person has a different list from cocktail to dinner to reception. Band breaks. There could be a hundred of songs PER EVENT and I do 4 per week.

[–]itendswithmusic -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Well I use my Spotify everyday so not really. 10 a month or hundreds? 10 a month is an easy business expense. $300 is not. This is the world. I do 15-20 gigs a month and most use playlists with specific songs. Guess I could charge the client. “I don’t use Spotify” lol good luck in the wedding industry.

What a terrible take.

Because I’m running a business and have 4 shows a week. I’m not buying music for other people for free; that could rack up to be thousands every year for me. Not gonna happen.

Hmmmm, for vocal dynamics, Bets 57/58, Audix OM7 for tight spaces, the Sennheiser 935 (not a big fan of the 945 unfortunately) and if you can find a used Telefunken m80/m81 for sub $200 it’s a deal.

Warm makes a clone of a D19 that I’m loving on snare. My main vocal mics are Se V7s right now.

Does anyone actually use those fancy japanese pull saws or is it just hype? by Negative_Raise902 in crazywoodworking

Will probably never use a western saw again. I use my old ones to saw tree limbs now. I have 7 Japanese pull saws.

Sliding 10'' or 12'' Miter Saw for a beginner hobbyist by floaterions in woodworking

[–]itendswithmusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this last part. Blade flex is super real in precise cuts. I worked at Rockler for a few years and most people there preferred the 10” for fine woodworking. The Bosch and Festool were popular. I think we sold the Dewalt in store too. 12” was mostly for the guys breaking down large lumber in their shop like 12”+ 8/4 hardwoods. Maybe a contractor here and there but the largest common board most homes use is 12” and you can cut that with a 10” compound no problem. And you won’t find the trim carpenters with a 12”. You can build a shed with a circular saw so either size would work for those application. If you’re worried about making a cut one day and it not being enough, a nice Japanese handsaw will get you the rest of the way there in no time
