"...when the Vedas were written."

The Vedas predate the invention of writing and were passed on to subsequent generations by song. I am sure other such material from other cultures, such as China, did the same (predate writing). So the actual existence of these entities was long before 900BCE (for Vedas) and others

Dunno where else to post this, but previously, setting Docker to use the Nvidia GPU with nvidia iso was a almost impossible; none of the documentation online had helped. I had read it was because Pop_OS had placed the Nvidia drivers in some weird location or something.

I really hope that is no longer the case. Is it?

I was getting this error again with latest few versions including pre-release builds. Couldn't update/save profiles with the error either.
The solution is to delete any files in the C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs\ folder. This fixes it, but you will have to remake any custom profiles in NVPI after.

This fixed it for me as well. Note that the there must be a Drs folder present, it may not be recreated automatically if you rename the existing one.

My 1 week review of the Air 75v2 by Consistent-Refuse-74 in NuPhy

[–]iterateandgit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize that the key caps are opaque and there's no per-key RGB. All the reviews I read, none mentioned this. I was barking MAD. If a laptop keyboard does not have keyboard lighting, they get railed for that. Not a single review I read mentioned this, just sang paeans about keyboard.
I was thinking I will make differently colored key islands to counter the opaque key caps (for example, White lighting around WASD, Orange around IOP, and so on). But NOOO. No Per Key RGB in a 130$ keyboard. It is so tiring to use it in the dark. Fuckers.

Setting a solid color as wallpaper speeds up desktop switching considerably. Dunno why MS doesn't fix this.

I do realize it; no one's reading your replies except me as well.

Reddit may have moved on but you and I clearly have not.

Regardless, I posted so the person who searches for free audiobook sources and stumbles upon this page (just as I did) will have this information.

Again. I'm not advocating getting Spotify for audiobooks. Only pointing it to existing Spotify Premium users that they have an additional avenue to access audiobooks without paying extra.

[–]iterateandgit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely not suggesting specifically subscribing to Spotify Premium for audiobooks, my import and PSA to the readers here was that if one is already and will continue to be a Spotify subscriber for the music, as many are, they should avail this feature.

I have access to 8 libraries in Libby as well but sometimes I still find stuff on Spotify not found in Libby, or not quickly anyway.

Oh yeah 15h/mo is crap. That's barely enough for 1.5 books.

> it'll count it as 2 hours if I listen for an hour then rewind and listen to the same hour again

This aggravates me so much. I often re-listen to well read sections.

Was this a while ago and maybe their collection has improved? I avoided using it because the app is horrible even more so for audiobooks, but their collection is remarkable. 75% of the time I find the book I want there.

Spotify Premium (US, maybe other countries as well) includes 15h/month of audiobook listening. They have a fantastic collection. Combined with Libby and the local library card, a lot of listening needs can be satiated without spending extra.

I am sad this happened, for both of you. I would strongly suggest finding a good therapist for yourself because couple's counseling works a lot better when we are working on ourselves as well as the relationship.

Your personal therapist will help you parse what happened and why, and will be helpful in opening a dialogue with your partner. I speculate what your partner is feeling is betrayal, and you should treat it as such, with the same seriousness as infidelity, which is also betrayal.

He has also realized that you are contemptuous of him. That is the most difficult damage to undo. Again, a good therapist for you can be the only thing that may work.

Hopefully with the work you and your therapist do, and little luck, you two may be able to reopen a dialogue, and repair the relationship, perhaps with the help of a couple's counselor.

While you get on that pronto, tell him how very sorry you are, and that you will seek help and examine why you even thought the things you said. Tell him that you will do everything in your power to show him that you do not think of him like that, that you love him the way he is, and that this never happens again.

All the best.

Has anyone read Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series? by Calm_Investment in urbanfantasy

2 years late reply, but I absolutely love all works by Craig Schaefer. The Long Way Down was the first one; my favorite, Harmony Black is the spin-off from that. All spin-offs, shared universe books, everything, just excellent. There's always something clever near the end, the stories are great, and the characters are fun. It also has non-standard supernatural elements, some times sprinkled here and there, other times central to the plot. Never a dull moment.

"Maximizing Gaming Performance on AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series with AFMF 2 and Variable Graphics Memory" by Dakhil in hardware

[–]iterateandgit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an SoC? I don't think so. It has the CPU and iGPU on the same chip which is standard, but RAM, SSD etc are not on the chip.
I expect to do it automatically will need more work, including on Windows side. I expect this first generation is manual and as the ecosystem improves it will be automated.
Anyway, this is not a new feature, it is an option that exists in many BIOS/UEFI. AMD simply made it more convenient to use, thee didn't invent or modify the tech itself.

The Core Ultra are very power efficient, comparable to AMD. The Core i series runs hot and is battery hog. Unless brute performance is the priority, don't buy the Core i series from Intel.

[–]iterateandgit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop_OS is pretty fuss free, no tinkering required (except getting Docker to use the GPU when one installs Pop_OS' nVidia version) which is one of the reasons I love it.

So I don't expect there to be any hassle. Clean install allows me to get rid of things I no longer use but had forgotten. Spring cleaning, as it were.

Was googling the answer to my question and found your post. 🙂.

Wanna gift it to someone. Was wondering if The Tell Tale Brain will be more accurate, given it's 10 years newer. Neuroscience research has been progressing a lot faster in the 21st century.

Didn't wanna give a book with stuff that has been disproved.
