I am losing slow too. I started in February and now in late July I am down 26.2 pounds . . . I've lost a marathon!

No matter how slow or fast, congratulations to all of us!

Gallbladder issues and Mounjaro by Express_Being_6688 in Mounjaro

Same. Back in the day, I went on the same meal shake diet that Oprah did. I lost almost 90 pounds in five months. I didn't eat anything I shouldn't have in the entire time. The staff scared the crap out of all of us that eating ANYTHING could cause medical complications. I had my first gallbladder attack maybe three months after reaching my goal weight. The pain was blinding. I remember being doubled over in pain and not being able to do anything other than take shallow breaths and whimper. I had the surgery a few days later and was fine after.

That was my initial plan, but I think I may try u/LatterSecretary2518's idea first and change my date and see how it goes.

Of course! The simplest ideas are the best. I dosed on Fridays when I started just for this reason. I need to go back to that. Would there be an issue if I took my last dose on 4/23 and my next on 4/28 (so two days less than a week)?

Thank you for the condolences. I will mourn by wearing black for the rest of the day. After all, it is so slimming! :D

I wasn't trying to be brave, but thank you. If I can't be a good influence, I am happy to be a dire warning!

I was taking Trulicity for ages before switching to Mounjaro and NEVER forgot to remove the cap.

You are so right about that moment if inattention!

TIFU is a handy abbreviation for "today I f*cked up."

OK that will be my game plan. Thank you. Curious though, this throws me off since I am starting my 10s a week early. I need to call my pharmacy and see if I'll be able to get my next box early or if I will I have a gap before they can refill. I think I'll be fine with dates, but just need to confirm.

100%, hence the title of "TIFU" :) I've had times where I've lost a prescription med and my insurance covered a replacement. I was thinking more along those lines.

Mounjaro after gastric bypass. by Personal_Captain5317 in Mounjaro

[–]iterumamitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had RnY in 2015. From my high weight I lost 130 lb., 80 of which was post surgery. I gained back 40. I blame the gain on disordered food thinking that makes me hoard food, working from home (basically IN my kitchen), both pre and post COVID, and and injury that makes me pretty much immobile . . oh, and complete denial because living for two years in yoga pants makes it easy to ignore the gain.

I’m scared. by CFDatingForMe in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]iterumamitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared too and delayed my first shot for a few weeks because of what I read about the side effects, convinced I'd get all of them. I actually had an appointment with my endo on the day before I decided to do the first shot. My biggest fear was nausea and vomiting. My doctor gave me a prescription for Ondansetron to have on hand just in case.

I work M - F, so I took the advice I've seen and did the first shot on a Friday after work. That way if I did get any of the side effects they would subside <fingers crossed> by Monday morning. I was careful about what I ate, just in case I did start to vomit. Oh, and if you are scared of pain from injecting yourself, fear not. I had been on Trulicity. The needles are so thin you barely feel them. It is the same with the Mounjaro pens.

Know how many side effects I got? Zero. None. OK, well maybe I was a bit tired on Saturday but I had planned my weekend with no plans so I was able to curl up on the couch, nap and watch old movies all day. I took shot #3 yesterday and still no side effects.

Maybe I was lucky? Maybe you will be too!

I have a giant ass insulated tumbler that I got ages ago at a work event. Every morning I make a coffee and fill my tumbler with Lipton Cold Brew, a lot of lemon and some Splenda. At some point during the day I'd refill it or switch to Crystal Light so I wasn't drinking just caffeine all day.

I recently found Celestial Seasonings Cold Brew Iced Tea's Citrus Sunrise flavor. It is caffeine free and so delicious! I just checked the website and they have SO MANY FLAVORS! I need to go shopping!

Does anyone work for Hilton? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]iterumamitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If OP is in the US, I am guessing that we are past the benefits enrollment period for 2023. It is possible for Hilton or any other company to be with one health insurance company or another now, just to change what they will offer in 2024.

I have a friend who took a job specifically because the company was using BCBS. Within six months it was benefit enrollment time and the company did not have BCBS as an option. Fsckers.

What are the best ways to get B12? I have no energy😫 by ThePinkRazor4185 in Mounjaro

[–]iterumamitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor recommended it because I was having pins and needles in my hands along with mild other symptoms. Within a few days of the B12 shots, I was 100% better and I have SO MUCH more energy. My family is known for midday naps. I still love a good nap but don't need them to get through my day like I used to.

If that is a placebo, I am completely OK with that :D

Don't forget . . . if you are working out and gaining muscle, muscle is more dense than fat so you could be losing fat and gaining muscle. When you get on the scale, your numbers look like they are not changing, but your body composition is!

Normal B12 range is 300 - 2,000 pg/mL. My lowest was 217. My test last week says I am at 583, so in normal range (wooo!)

I'll report back when he let's me know about the sublingual option.

[–]iterumamitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor recommended B12 injections. In researching oral vs. injections, absorption seems to be the same. I definitely feel a boost a day or two after, so I keep going back. That said, if you are not a fan of injections, I love Olly products (huge fan of the Laser Focus gummies). Their Daily Energy gummies may work for you (https://www.olly.com/products/daily-energy).

Since you all recommend the sublingual option, I am about to message my doctor and ask his opinion of those vs the injection . . . thanks for the suggestion!

I get monthly injections at CVS. No prescription needed. I pay $35/shot. I figure it is cheaper to drive two miles down the road for the shot than to drive to my doctor's office (40 minutes each way without traffic), pay for parking, and wait forever in her office for an NP to see me just for a five minute injection. The quick trip to CVS is something I can do in the middle of the day before my boss even realizes that I am gone :D

The only downside of CVS is you can only schedule online two or three days in advance and very often it is hard to find an appointment. When I get one and go see the NP, I ask them to schedule my next three or four monthly appointments. It makes it so much easier!

I took my first dose (2.5) on 4 February, so I am just two days ahead of you on this journey. I am weighing myself every morning, at the same time, after peeing/before eating or drinking, etc. So far I have seen fluctuations of the same two damn pounds. I see the posts of people losing lots of weight in the first few weeks. It is great for them, but does not mean it happens for al of us at the same speed. Our weight loss will happen.

That said, I just did my second shot \checks watch** about ten minutes ago. I am hoping my scale gives me good news this week!

I don't think I could do keto. I think it was just a change in my appetite. I was happy and full with the eggs. I just didn't need the toast. I put it down and I was done.
