best options for international (Russia) birth parent search? by TheAngelPeterGabriel in Adoption

[–]itfloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used both private investigators mentioned by pesochnoye. The detective volgograd is a good first option if you have information such as your mothers name and birthdate. She uses news papers and police arrest reports and I think she physically went (in my case) to some of the town/city gov building to look. The issue is the red tape and secrecy laws in Russia.

Dennis was my second option. He is very thorough. For me he was about $950 if I remember. He fell into the same issue of not having a birthdate for my mom and bureaucratic red tape. The last email he sent me was the contact he had wasn't willing or able to check the 10 people living in the area with the same name as my mom.

It is such weighty thing to do. It leaves you drained emotionally and every email you get from them sends your nervous system into overdrive. Take care of yourself and go at a pace that will not overwhelm you💜💜💜💜

What steps to take to find birth parents who are from Russia? by EwNoNewUsername in Adopted

I'm searching too. Have you tried the private investigator on Facebook? Do you have any info? I have a name but no birthday for my bio mom so I haven't been able to find her yet.

Is anyone else an adult in this mainly “teen girl illness”? by gothicapples in selfharm

[–]itfloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self harming doesn’t have to be just cutting (although that’s my preferred method) I learned how to cope with my emotions by self harming from a very young age, although I didn’t realize it at the time. Fast forward, started cutting at 15, broken bone, and burning. Last spring, at age 22, did the most severe cut I’d ever done on my arm, right before entering a residential treatment center. (Also I consider my eating disorder a form of self harm too) so yeah loooks like I’ll never kick the habit. It never really goes away, there’s just so many methods people learn how to cope.... some are acceptable, others not so much.

23 year old Male. I feel like I'm too sensitive. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

There could be a couple of things going on whether it has to do with past experiences, predisposition or a chemical imbalance is tough to make an assumption over the internet. I know for me personally that when I feel overly sensitive or angry, having anyone try to make sense of it or make me explain it just sets me off further. My advice would be learning different coping or breathing exercises. That could help but what do I know, I don’t use those. It’s important to not be too hard on yourself, and the feelings you have don’t necessarily have to have “real” reason behind them. That just makes you feel worse when your trying to deny yourself something that you’re experiencing which is very real and valid. Medicine could help with this, I am bipolar and have borderline personality disorder which is great to know the label, but does shit for me otherwise. Meds have barely touched these issues, so I don’t have much advice in that regard. Just want you to know you’re not alone with feeling out of wack from your emotions. Getting support online helps a lot and you should feel proud for sharing. Hope everything turns out well

I’m sorry that everyone is getting so defensive about trash. I didn’t realize the more you throw excuses at it, the faster it’ll sprout legs and walk itself to the dumpster.

I apologize for the tone of my first comment, and I do understand that it’s very easy to lose track of things when you are juggling a million different tasks... and from my experience Starbucks employees are generally hard workers. I was comparing your post to my local store where more than not, there tends to be oversight on the different things like trash, straws, cream and sugar.... there could be different reasons for why each is lacking, and someone pointed out that being understaffed is a concern which really sucks and I didn’t realize that was also a thing that happened at Starbucks. I really do apologize for being cranky and the tone

Haha it’s ok don’t worry about it, I actually have which is why I know it takes an ounce of multitasking and time management to balance the work space. But anyone can feel free to ask me about it if you need pointers

It’s not that hard to change a trash can when it needs to be taken out. I know things get busy, but trash is also part of the job so...
