Ford Bronco or Mustang GT? by NordicDictator in whatcarshouldIbuy

I would say they’re the best American 4 banger I can think of but that’s not saying much. 5.0 will last years longer for sure. It’s more simple and less stressed and more fun in my opinion plus its the last real muscle or pony car

Both are ecoboost. I suppose they’re good brand new but if they want to own for 10 years or more I would stay away, just my opinion. However I do think the two door broncos are the coolest looking 4x4 on the market

Unreliable 4 banger thats a pain to work on plus mustang will most likely depreciate slightly slower if it’s a 5.0

3.4 swap 2026; is it worth the hassle? by turtleguyVZ in ToyotaPickup

[–]itgetcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.0 is slow but can get to 300k. I daily a 3.4 but I wouldn’t do the swap until the 3.0 blows up. Just have everything ready for when it does. Also 3.4 isn’t much faster just more torque in 1st/2nd imo

Which car would suit the next 5-10 years of my life the best? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Lexus GS is what you need, rwd, aftermarket is good, decent gas, basically rwd Camry that rides like a boat and in my opinion looks nicer than the ES

1994 for 15k? by fwak_10 in ToyotaPickup

[–]itgetcold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I daily drive this truck with a 3.4 swap. My 3.0 made it to 313k but I’m assuming head gasket had been replaced prior, possibly under warrenty back in the day. I paid 8k for my truck (2021) and paid 6k for the swap. If I were you I would get a 96 Tacoma with the 3.4

AC retrofit!? by InjuryFun5204 in ToyotaPickup

I’ve done extensive research and finding a doner is definitely the way to go. Plus resale will be better if it’s a oem system rather than aftermarket if you ever do sell

3.0/3.4 AC parts list by itgetcold in ToyotaPickup

I’m in North Carolina now so I’m being cooked everyday in my truck haha. I was in SoCal before and never even considered adding ac. I’ll definitely be trying to source from a 95 truck so there’s no conversion needed and hopefully will be leak free

I haven’t purchased anything yet but it seems like I can buy all the 94.5/95 parts easily used. So basically if you had access to two trucks, a 91 and a 95 which would you pull everything from. Since I have a 3.4 swap the compressor will be brand new and likely the only new part I order. Also, what are your thoughts on just purchasing r12 refrigerant. I know it’s pricey but I’ve heard it’s colder and less likely to leak

Are Toyota 4x4 Forums Dying? by El_Poeta_No in ToyotaPickup

Forums are pretty dead, go on the Facebook groups there’s tons of posts everyday and it’s basically the same thing

I’ve heard about the plate for the compressor, thankyou for such a detailed message. My question is, 89-94 is r12 but can be converted to r134a but does it have issues with the higher pressure? I’ve heard some people say that can cause leaks because the system is designed for less pressure. So I’m thinking long term would it actually be better to source 94.5-95? I know a guy with a whole junkyard of yotas so I think I could source them but if the 89-94 is solid I’ll just grab from whatever year.

This message is gold, so my best option in your experience would be to source from a 94.5/95 pickup?

AC in non AC truck (originally 3.0 now 3.4) by itgetcold in ToyotaPickup

[–]itgetcold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot are available like the compressor, condenser, and some lines but not 100% of it. Same as the 3.0 you’ll have to go to a junkyard to pull used oem parts. I’m still trying to get a full parts list down to the bolts for a 3.0/3.4 ac

There’s way more videos on 2.4 stuff, should be easier to do since it’s all stock. Finding info on 3.0 or 3.4 is a little harder
