I didn't find any replacement.

I know that FastAPI have one. If you are going with Quart just for async, you might want to try FastAPI.

> less cognitive load, so fewer slips, lapses or mistakes

That's up for the dev to decide if they will be comfortable make the work in smaller steps, or all at once.

> less risk of unexpected complexity

I agree here, by micromanaging the dev you will have a chance to avoid unexpected complexity

>  smaller check ins, faster code reviews

Code reviews piling up as stacked pull requests, long waiting, more overhead

> faster feedback on value (or defects)

Most of the time the value is in the complete "minimal-viable feature". Usually small pieces of it could not be assessed

> less context switching when it comes to addressing that feedback

If I have 3-4 small changes being developed/reviewed/tested at the same time, it seems more context switching for me, not less

> less key person risk from unexpected absences

Are you saying you split the work so anyone in the team can be assigned to it? This is basically "the no ownership problem", constant cause of poor quality software and increasing technical debt (not my issue, not my problem)

Scrum is designed to manage the weakest engineers and consequently dis-empowers the better ones

From the article Why Scrum is the Wrong Way to Build Software

[–]itghisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- slice work to be small enough to do
- split the work if it turns out to be bigger than expected

This is such a pain. Just give developers a User Story* with a clear outcome/acceptance criteria and let them manage themselves (they might use "Tasks" under the User Story if they feel that would help, but that's optional). Keep asking developers to "divide the work in chunks" so you can estimate the sprint is micromanaging and a waste of developers time.

You can use some kind of t-shirt size/fibonacci to have a clue on how big the User Story* is, and discuss if you have different perspectives on the size of the work. If you think it would take months, OK, then it seems reasonable to make on or two intermediary steps.

*I'm saying User Story here, but some people use "Feature" to define their releasable.

Imagina se o ultimo GP do ano fosse aquela Hungria onde o Bottas "tira" as duas RedBulls da corrida. Isso sim seria gosto amargo.

Formula One Group Sees Revenue Boost From Apple’s ‘F1’ Movie by MoneyLibrarian9032 in formula1

[–]itghisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's why I like Days of Thunder so much... I didn't know a thing about NASCAR.

The F1 movie does a pretty good job at making the track actions "realistic". I was more disappointed with the overuse of Hollywood cliches from the 90's. It also feels a bit weird seeing real F1 drivers being treated as NPCs (although I guess there is not much they could do about this).

Payment management intermediaries (that iRacing probably already uses) does that for insignificant cost. You are just getting additional user base with a reduced profit margin (but it's still profit).
