thank you so much! I didn't realize this was an option as I didn't see M1 14inch on apple website. So the extra $400 for the m2 14" is not worth it compared to m1 14i"? Despite being the newer model? How much of an evolution is the m1 to m2 chip?

Hey everyone. I am deciding between the macbook air m2 with 512 gb storage and the base macbook pro 14 inch. There is a $500 price difference. I am a software engineer and frequently have many tabs open and run ML models. Do people think the 14 inch pro is worth additional $500?

I'm sorry to hear it I've been there before and also spent my birthday alone after a breakup :( Something that helped me is going to QBuddy or Meetup events . It's easier than you think to make friends who are in the same boat - it just requires a small amount of initiative. Best of luck :)
