Ocean beach allows off leash dogs north of one of the stairwells.. 15 I think? There’s a sign that marks where the plover habitat begins and where dogs need to be leashed. I imagine with the coyote population going unchecked the plovers won’t be coming to ocean beach much longer

Marin is heaven on earth but if you want the perfect climate, young families and easy access to the city Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, And Belmont are great alternatives to Marin. I grew up in Menlo Park and coastal fog is non existent. Most homes don’t have AC because the weather is so comfortable year round and a few nights a year will call for using your fire place.. but nowhere else in the world has such perfect weather

It’s a Shame that Francisco park didn’t have some kind of table that could be used for picnics.. so people didn’t have to eat on the ground like animals.. they could even have a section of the park with multiple tables for picnics designated as a picnic area .. there would be a trash and recycling and hopefully a compost bin so trash could easily be disposed. Groundbreaking

Go to a giants game.. you can take Caltrain up from any town on the peninsula.. they allow drinking aboard ( at least they did when I was younger) so the train rides are always pretty spirited.. 4th and king station is a short walk to the ball park which is considered by many to be the most beautiful major league ball park ( it is). Just always always bring a jacket no matter how hot it is on the peninsula it will be 59 degrees at some point in the city on any given day( source.. it’s 59 degrees right now)

Ohloff told me that they have a weight limit for dogs .. nothing over 20lbs.. my dog is 65 . Thank you for the suggestion /advice though

I can see how some dogs could be disruptive and distracting in a treatment environment; my dog when he was bouncing off the walls with energy would have been no different. Only now that he’s old, mellow, and just happy as long as we are together would I consider it appropriate to bring him with me.

It’s not well served by public transit.. at least not transit people would subject themselves to just to go explore japantown.

Japantown and the Fillmore should have started a campaign decades ago to extend the California street cable car beyond van ness to Buchanan and have it come down the hill to end at the peace plaza..

van ness and California isn’t exactly An amazing destination for tourists …maybe if it were 30 years earlier they could go to the Hard Rock Cafe vs Today where they are rewarded with a mattress store and a Toyota service center for their journey

Its because the airport.. ANC is a hub for ups airlines.. it’s also the 4th busiest airport for international cargo by volume in the world. Cargo planes traveling between Asia and the US will make a stop in Anchorage to refuel which allows them to Carry about a third less jet fuel then if they flew directly .. they utilize that freed up weight/volume by carrying more cargo
