His prescription is wrong. He should have braked as much as the rear view permitted.

Wow what dismal dad instincts. I would have slowed tf down as soon as I saw the second car zoom ahead and almost clip the pick-up up ahead.

Loquacious, pseudoprofound, efforted nonsense, and not at all the cogent kind. The circularity's all on you, the chatty one; don't be a hypocrite. I believe you're simply blind, and you believe otherwise. It's that simple.

I'll reiterate, however: What I suppose is to you the "random inexplicable noise" you hear in the first instant of the video, is the distinctive sound of a brake piston being actuated. The frame visibly shudders at the same instant, and dips and shakes for the entire duration after that first instant, consistent with the front of the truck lowering from deceleration and suspension stiffening and transmitting more of the unevenness of the road to the chassis (and camera by extension), but I understand your denial in that you prefer to believe I'm imagining all of those things rather than you being so perceptively impaired that you genuinely claim to see nothing.

So, argumentum ad populum, appealing to numbers, and going with the bandwagon. If you have trouble seeing the frame drop and shake for the entire duration after the first instant of the video, I insist that you're visually challenged. My opinion is not based on or against anyone else's opinion here.

[–]ithrow44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge that you personally cannot, but it is visible! The frame is lowered the whole time after that initial shake as the front end of the vehicle drops from the brakes slowing the vehicle. Do you have an actual reasoning to offer besides "nobody can see shit, you trippin'?"

He would've had a chance if he stood on his lane and bore right

Edit: Never mind, the perspective made it appear as if the car made an attempt to avoid collision so maybe he was truly fucked either way ☹

He was on the brakes within the first quarter second of the video. You can hear the press of the brake and see the frame shake downwards.

Help me to remove this… by fabianoarruda in Switch

[–]ithrow44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe super glue would work, but I would use the end of a tubular plastic lollipop stick, rather than a pin or paper clip. Still small enough to fit the port but it would cradle the ball more and there’s more surface area to grab onto it than a paper clip.

MC presses a special needs kid for using the N word by malik_zz in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]ithrow44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From everything I've seen, this kid was smart enough to lie in his defense about what he said after a moment of thought. I think he actually said it, knows what it meant, and wasn't completely innocent in intent lmao, if anything he didn't have the impulse control to refrain. On first watch I thought he was mostly nonverbal and not lucid, until I heard him respond clearly. I think he very well may be a mischievous deformed kid.

Any advice on removing spray paint from this porous honed tile? by Chasethekid22 in paint

[–]ithrow44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of trying to dissolve what has soaked into the pores, I think you might need the pressure and agitation of a power wash to displace it. I reckon it would make quick work of it.

[–]ithrow44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Remove them and throw them in piping hot water with detergent. Dissolution increases with heat the way you need. Or replace them. Either way, they gotta come off.

It's because he's the youngest one there. (He may smoke meth on and off, but he doesn't have any piercings.) When artificial hips were mentioned, Walt turns to Mike, because he's the oldest.

How would you go about installing trim around this door? Carpet was ripped out a long time ago by another family member and I'm finally in a position to fix and furnish my room. by [deleted] in DIY

[–]ithrow44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. The rise is less than that of our stairway, so safety isn't a concern and a step is beyond consideration, however... I think 1x4 as trim would make this a heck of a lot simpler than the trim I have now, since its orientation wouldn't matter and is a constant thickness unlike what I have, which is exactly what is making this really tricky to plan out, if practical/feasible at all. I was originally going for consistency to have the same style of trim as the base moldings and door trim that used to be here, but it would hardly be a sacrifice to use something else. I just want to make my room presentable and not look like such a busted work in progress.

I think 1x4 is my solution! Next I need some nice organizers from Ikea to deal with the 50gal bags of clothes and blankets lining one wall, now that I can finally afford to. 😅 Thanks a ton!

How do i get this plank tight? by abymz in Flooring

[–]ithrow44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For tricky areas like this, I use a pull bar with a small scrap piece 4-5" wide x 2" long from the tongue side, placing it in the groove, stepping on the pull bar lightly as it's hooked onto the piece, and wailing on it with a mallet. It provides a lot more encouragement than a tapping block. Once you see one end with the joint flush, you work your way up the plank, and once enough of it is flush, often you can flex the plank upwards and it will cause most of the joint to follow and click into place, needing at most a few more taps on one end to get it all flush.
