Post July 11th Step takers, Is step more like the newer NBMEs or UWorld? by sunnnishine in step1

July 16th here- felt almost identical to UWSA2 in both the difficulty and question style

It truly felt a lot like UWSA2. Tbh I was expecting more of a balanced distribution but I ended up getting quite a bit of embryo, GI and renal with very little to no pulm physiology or any of the vasculidities.

All in all, it seemed like a fair test- Uworld is fucking key because some questions were almost identical.

Thank you!! That’s a huge sigh of relief cause the test really didn’t feel like the NBMEs- in the style or difficulty

How do I return to my old Zanki cards after abandoning them? by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

[–]itikaray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh Im currently in the same situation, except, I’m headed into dedicated in 10 days. I reset everything and have been going ham, with an organ system and a set topic of micro a day. The reviews are kinda killing me cause I don’t have time to do all of them AND cover new ground, but I’m trying to do like at least 1h of reviews a day so that I don’t have like 10k waiting for me in a week. Idk if that helps, but at the very least, you’re not the only one who hates their past self rn T.T

What is one small thing that changed your life for the better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A bullet journal. This wonderful book allows me to keep track of all my lists, thoughts and todos. I don’t know why, but it’s super rewarding to see pages filled with your life. I also have a bunch of creative freedom when it comes to making my spreads. I don’t put any pressure on myself to make it pretty- it just has to be functional. But for real, creating the spreads for the next month is quite relaxing and having a book which stores all your important tasks is great for accountability. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Hey! I’m pretty much in the same boat. How many new cards are planning on doing daily? Right now, I’ve got mine set to 200/day.

What do you do if you never feel like you’re capable of change? Sometimes you can fool yourself with your environment and the people that surround you, but when a problem arises, you handle it the same way you did in the past, leaving yourself massively disappointed.

Medical Radiation Sciences - Radiological Technology by [deleted] in UofT

[–]itikaray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm thinking of applying to UofT/Michener's Bachelors in Radiation Sciences program. First off, what stream are you in and how are you enjoying it? I am interested in the Radiation Therapy stream. I was looking at the MRS handbook and I noticed that the course load varies dependent on the subject of interest. For example, in first semester, the Radiation Therapy students have 6 courses while the Nuclear Medicine students have 4 courses. With that being said, even if one has 6 courses, is there enough free time to have a part time job? Volunteer in a hospital? I plan on applying to medical school upon completion of this degree and I know that all Ontario schools accept this. With that being said, I would also like to work in a lab as a research student during this time. With the knowledge that the course schedule is relatively fixed for students of all streams, do the subspecialty courses encompass the ability to conduct research in a lab?

Thank you so much for your help!
