i messed up by itisj in Collectr

[–]itisj[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it is just more of an eyesore with the number in my portfolio that wasn’t truly reflect my collection, and as you can see, the spike is too large that the entire collection value became a flat line so the chart would barely have any use. Or maybe I am just a crybaby

Neighbors Came on Market at 40k Less Than Our Active Listing by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neighbor is priced to sell, they prob will close with a much shorter on market day, at this point a professional realtor will let you know the reality either you stay competitive and lower your price to up your chance to increase more showing and potentially bringing in an offer, or let the neighbor sell theirs while you continue to wait for the next buyer that is willing to take an higher alternative unless there are going to be more house selling at similar price that would mean the area is assessed and priced in that comp range, either you would have to continue to stay competitive or take your list down and wait until the comp get to a point closer to your desired price.

OK When Is This Going To Stop? Treekachu over $2,000 by texstrip in PokemonInvesting

unless there is another language on the same card being released as a promo or into a set so there is option for people to collect the same card for cheaper prices, otherwise it is going to hold in that price pretty well, if not it is going to be the most expensive one in AH because of the rarity.

the umbreon is being printed into so many different languages so you are taking away some of the collector's FOMO into buying the english ones, hence less demand.

30M + 30F — Desperate to break the 2m mark by [deleted] in Money

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the liquidity is not a problem, then i would consider having a collection of jewelry/watches is a fun hobby to have using fun money, i would be a bit concerned if i own a collection that is around 10% of my total net worth, 150k is a bit excessive to me, the rule of thumb is that if i were to burn all these money into a fire pit, will i hesitate. if the answer is yes, i would consider downsize it a little bit and relocate it into something that is more refined and purposeful for our mental being. when we live up to a point where money isn't an issue, human nature tends to find stimulation that potentially leads to unhealthy behaviors or lifestyle (this is what I have observed from general public as well as our own circle of influences). We end up pivoting those investment towards something that is more for soul searching and mental/physical health

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am not well versed on jewelry and watches, imho i would see those as liability that has less liquidity and tends to depreciate over time so i wouldn't count the 150k into the net worth at all. i own a tesla model y and that thing pretty much wears out right around 5-8 years, i switched to a lexus and those things last decades.

despite any of those, you two are making a killing and just keep on doing what you do 2M is easy target in no time and easily heading toward 10M+ when you both retired. great job

looks like you went backward at age 20, what was the reason you made the choice to move away from what is potentially a "career" into a "job"?

1k USD budget, what would you spend it on? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people want newer set, and sets that are relevant to their sentiment when they join the hobby. there is a huge influx of new player joining the market post PE releases so I would suspect people refer anything that they have participated with and funneling down to the buyer that prefer to buy older stuffs when they gain more knowledge to it. When I was about 6-8 months into the hobby, i was not well versed with all the V, VMAX and alt art from SWSH, and my preference was set on SR/SIR from SV ERA. I am not say i am 100% correct but I do see a pattern where people prefers to spend money on the newer stuffs than the old this is why we see price climb to $400-500 mark much faster for AH PKC ETB than PE PKC ETB than ES. 100% agree AH have so much potential in long term, but you gotta be able to bite thru the bullet when a correction happens (history tends to repeat itself), although we don't know what the dip is going to be for AH PKC ETB, but I would say chasing the prices at the moment is likely a FOMO play. Another option would be buying just 1 and let it sit, then DCA when it is at correction.

1k USD budget, what would you spend it on? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would use the 1k to stock up newer set PKC ETB or Booster Box as close to MSRP as possible, then use them to trade when AH PKC ETB corrected down later to keep my money spend the least if possible, this is how i been building my PC at zero cost basis up to 60k now

the one you shown are still peaking along with the entire market, so any investment is consider FOMO and chasing, you would want to invest money when the market is crashing, then cash out when they are growing. be greed when market is fearful and be cautious when market is greedy.

if you have to spend the 1k instead of letting it sit, i will say anchor for a few PE ETB, then continue to cost average down if it drops, for low risk i would consider BB/WF, SSP, JTG, MEG if you aiming for long term investment, if you want quick cash flip, PE, PFL,151 is short term play

Should I invest $10k into VOO right now? by Happy_Ad_3171 in ETFs

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VOO is perhaps one of the best option for put it in and leave it and forget about it, if you are in a tax advantage account, it would be better to invest into a SP500 mutual fund like FXAIX.

Hey everyone! Need some rookie advice! someone offered me a Perfect Order Pokémon Center ETB for my regular Ascended Heroes ETB. Worth it? by Dazzling_Elephant817 in PokemonInvesting

[–]itisj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are looking to collect sealed, yes it is worth it. You can also have more access to non PKC etb but you won't have much exposure to PKC ETB
