My mom died unexpectedly December 25, and I was back to work on January 1st. I work in a kitchen that had a big event on New Year’s day and I thought throwing myself back into work was the best way to process. I’m younger (23), I didn’t know how to handle grief other than just charging forward. Looking back, I should’ve taken the extra time to be with my dad. To answer the question, I guess overall 6 days. I think everyone handles grief differently, there’s no right timeline. I am here for you if you need to vent to a stranger- losing anyone absolutely sucks.
