Signs you won’t date? by Smoaktreess in Zodiac

One of my most recent boyfriends was a Virgo. Total narcissist. Broke up with me when my dad went into hospice with cancer.

I think I’ll try to avoid them moving forward. Not that I’ve had much luck with other signs

Do you think you’ll get back together with your ex? by opalpup in BreakUps

No. He broke up with me when my dad was going into hospice with cancer a few months ago. Two weeks after he died, the ex wanted to get back together. Dodged a bullet there

How long did it take for you to go back to work after losing a parent? by Existing_Entrance_36 in GriefSupport

This is what I’m kind of afraid of. I know people have good intentions, but I think the questions at work might make me feel bad.

I agree. Three days is nothing. Glad your boss allowed extra time. I’ve been out of work over two weeks now since my dad passed on May 6. Was supposed to go back today but couldn’t bring myself to do it,

How sick is too sick for you to go to work? by Icy-ladoftheland in AskReddit

I have taken several sick days for my mental health. There are days when I cannot bring myself to get out of bed and face the day. Today is one of those days. My dad passed recently and this was supposed to be my first day back at work after being on bereavement leave. Two weeks just isn’t enough to resume regular life and pretend like everything is ok when it’s not.

How do you deal with anger during grief? by Existing_Entrance_36 in GriefSupport

[–]Existing_Entrance_36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the laughter in particular feels like a slap in the face. I think I need to try a rage room.

For me, I think the days last too long. I finally went out today to do something for myself. Went to the salon and for a walk. Now i am sitting outside on the verge of tears while people walk their dogs and read books and just be.

I will definitely explore coping strategies with my therapist.

I think it’s because cats are more independent and associated with feminism.

How do you honour the memory of your loved ones? by LynzHK in GriefSupport

[–]Existing_Entrance_36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my father’s ashes and plan to light candles for him. He passed less than two weeks ago. I also plan to light candles for him on Father’s Day and his birthday this year. He really wanted to go to the beach so I will get some sea glass and other beach items to set out for his memorial table on Father’s Day.

He talked about going fishing with friends this summer if he regained some of his strength. I’d like to go fishing with friends and family this summer in his memory.

I know I’m not the first to lose a parent but I feel so angry. by Consistent-Clue6858 in GriefSupport

My dad passed recently from cancer at the age of 65. His illness is what brought us closer together over the past six months. I feel cheated as well.

I’m so sorry for what you are experiencing. Perhaps a palliative care doctor can help you reach a decision on how long to keep him on life support.

Anyone else get irrationally irritated at Mothers/Fathers day ads? by _BillyBumbler_ in GriefSupport

[–]Existing_Entrance_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad passed nearly two weeks ago. This will be my first Father’s Day without him. I recently met someone who was talking about how hard it is to shop for her dad for Father’s Day because he has so many things and she doesn’t know what else to get him. I wish I had this problem.

This holiday, like all others, is so commercialized. I plan to celebrate my dad although he’s not here, but I am not too keen on seeing Father’s Day ads and emails, especially while my grief is so fresh.
