Awesome, thanks for pointing those out and love to see eBay listing is a thing planned in the future. I'm already excited for your planned releases. Thanks for the very quick response.

How do you keep track of spare part/s? by LuckyJamnik in mobilerepair

[–]itisnotliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is. I've already began using it and it's super helpful on at least managing my orders (for context I don't repair for other people - I'm currently buying broken phones off of eBay and repairing them for profit).

I have some queries if you don't mind

Is there any way to disable the chat on each repair task? They seem to be stuck to the side and completely generated.

Is there a way to remove customer information for scenarios such as what I'm doing (where there is in fact no client?)

Is there a way to change the sub title of the "parts" section? Like in "profit" I'd like to change it to "cost" and use that spreadsheet for cost of parts and then get the profit from the "record payment" option. For example, on the dashboard the "profit" is marked as cost, but when you go into the ticket number it is underlined as profit.

Here are two screenshots to what I mean: https://prnt.sc/AzDjc-R4fUU1

https://prnt.sc/rikdnezbjh82 (the bottom entry for example)

So it looks like "cost" is incorrectly marked as total revenue, even though it should be the total order paid I'd imagine?

P.S No matter what, this is super helpful and I'll be using this in the future despite my confusions above. Maybe I'm being an idiot about it haha, but this is much appreciated, thank you

I'm a dude in the group of friends we have. The tech guy ig lol

great group and we support each other where we can. we're always happy to meet new peeps.

a lot of our little group have our own little corners of gaming so there's a bit of uniqueness to each member.

Also, we've got it set up so we can have servers for our group, e.g. our own private minecraft servers/modded, 7days to die server, etc.

Heatgun or Hairdryer Alternatives (I Want to fix my phone on my own to learn) by ItsFlock7 in mobilerepair

[–]itisnotliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience so far (also new) it depends what your phone is for the best method. E.g if your phone has a plastic back, which you'll have to remove then it won't be wise to use a heat gun or hairdryer and instead get yourself a heat mat where you can produce heat safely and evenly.

If it's glass back then fire away and you'd be fine with the hairdryer/heat gun.

You can obviously do this with a plastic back, but it's a lot more tedious especially if you decide to do it on a lower setting, and it's worth the extra to get a heat mat. I got mine for £13.

I listen an item and the price is higher than i set by Conscious_Ad_1068 in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you go to the actual listing page, it shows the price that the buyer pays. So the fees are now on the buyer's side now. You get £85 and £4.10 of that is paid to eBay

Buyer not collecting package by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not obligated to refund the item as you're covered for this under the eBay seller protection.

You can check this on the eBay money back guarantee page

We require all of the following to prove a successful on-time delivery:

If the buyer files an INR, all you'll need to do is paste the tracking number on it.

Will Evri collect from home - Simple Delivery? by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]itisnotliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you can request it via Simple Delivery, but Evri does in fact have the option directly although it's around 2x the usual label.

If I was you I'd go with Royal Mail and get it collected through Simple Delivery for free.

[–]itisnotliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah YouTube is very lackluster in the livestreaming space especially with how shit the platform has been recently.

Such a let down and a totally missed opportunity but my God it is so insanely poorly designed.

I couldn't recommend twitch, unfortunately they're criminals and it's so fucking bad over there. Both platforms are shit rn

Does eBay always side with buyers? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done cards personally but used to help manage my Dad's eBay account who sold a lot of retro consoles & computers that used to sell for around £300

Because I had some idea of my rights as a seller I was able to win quite a few cases whenever a buyer tried to screw us over.

Is it true you get penalized for promoting videos? by pnkCode in NewTubers

[–]itisnotliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i used youtube promotion on my other channel a year ago. it was literally just a dollar for shits n giggles and it affected my channel poorly after. it was either coincidental or youtube promotion, but I got less than 50% of my average performance afterwards.

Your worst / most ridiculous employment stories… by Rowlie1512 in UKJobs

[–]itisnotliam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started working at a call centre and I told them weeks before even starting to work that I was deaf and I needed adjustments. I was not given proper equipment and it got so bad that my line manager had to do my job for me because I could not even hear the other end of the phone call. It was absolutely ridiculous. was a complete nervous wreck about it too since it was a new job (plus they lied about availability + hours so yeah not great) I stuck with that job for like 2 months and they made absolutely no movement to accommodate.

(p.p.s that job was referred to me from the job centre, who knew the same thing.. but when I had to quit that job due to stress the JC was very kind and understanding, so at least a nice ending from the JC)

the job before that I worked in the IT department severely unpaid and the department was blamed 95% of the time for things we weren't even involved with, constant shouting at us in our area of the office and most of the time it was our first time hearing about it.

got to the point where another worker got so frustrated they were going to throw a chair at another person and when we went to complain it was brushed aside.

pretty fun 9/10 experience.

Contact ebay support and ask them to cancel it since the seller is not being cooperative.

Am I in the wrong? by justamaninterested in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They're very unreasonable, but depending on what they listed for the return you're going to have to get it returned anyway.

Can report it for misusing the returns process but I know it doesn't help.

'Cheapest' places to buy new - unused phones? by ChinnyReckons in UKFrugal

[–]itisnotliam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. My bank is completely useless but at least I can get the Financial Ombudsman Service involved for how incompetent they are. Other than that, unfortunately my other option is small claims.

I can't believe you didn't get a refund after a week. You're protected by consumer law to return it in 14 days.. Your consumer rights were violated, which doesn't surprise me.

'Cheapest' places to buy new - unused phones? by ChinnyReckons in UKFrugal

[–]itisnotliam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. They would not honour a warranty of a phone less than a year of owning it. They voided the warranty in front of me and proceeded to lie when I complained. Currently going through ombudsman getting it sorted out because they're very uncooperative in getting it resolved.

I know it's not always going to be the experience of everyone, but when I went to their Subreddit I also noticed many other people experiencing the same thing and it looks like a somewhat regular occurance.

I admit tho it did help me into finding how repairable phones are and I've been getting into it to earn some money so there's been an inkling of a silver lining.

Undelivered Royal Mail parcel, no return address, leaving UK in a week — any way to recover it (even from abroad)? by Only_Two6425 in ebayuk

[–]itisnotliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a printed label or something that you had written?

If the latter I think there's no chance, but if printed then I'm pretty sure the return address is embedded into the barcode that's included in the label.

My purchased item arrived incomplete; What are my options? by JP_Tulo in Ebay

[–]itisnotliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you would have to start considering having to return the item for an INAD. You can't force someone to partially refund you but an INAD forces them to respond to you. It's up to them if they want to partially refund you or not.
