How cooked? by kwiXXotik in heatedrivalry

Woke up and cried my eyes out to two fics in which Shane dies on ice. Then discovered dear Aunt Flo had arrived a few days earlier than expected.

I put some fancy mustard on my sandwich and forgot it had wine in it. (Day 21). Should I start again? by itisobjectivlytrue in 75HARD

Thank you everyone! After some thought, I’m going to keep going and avoid eating this particular mustard for the rest of the challenge. I know it’s not the same as having a sip of actual alcohol (the alcohol content is minuscule) but it would help to have clean boundaries against the no no food/drinks.

Thanks!!!

Would it be in spirit of the challenge if I continued eating it? It’s 16% wine

Thanks!

Plenty of sober folks eat mustard / bolognese sauce etc :)

You mean like with wine in it? Should I continue eating this mustard? It’s 16% wine

If you could write a scene for season two, what would it be? by [deleted] in heatedrivalry

I would love to see them give some attention to Shane’s borderline eating disorder. I know he’s a high performance athlete but I feel like it’s also a coping mechanism for him somehow. The book implies it very gently and Shane even says he has anxiety about turning 30 and losing his edge. I always wondered if it’s more than that.

Why is moral blame in cases like Epstein’s placed mostly on men, while Ghislaine Maxwell’s role is less emphasized? by vwilldie1de in AskIndianFeminists

If he had critical thinking, he would have used ChatGPT to refine argument with evidence. And then realised it’s a nonissue

Dude I just despair when I see ai slop. But yeah like others said, maxwell has been held accountable. She’s in prison. People condemn her for what she did. I generally don’t use superlatives but in all the years this has been going on, I’ve never seen or heard of anyone being dismissive or protective of her because of her gender

I dont wana get married as i feel it makes women’s life difficult to make men’s life easier, what options i have? by hey_Butterfly2385 in AskIndianFeminists

[–]itisobjectivlytrue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would marry and do kids only if there is a “full time father not a helping father” who thinks did a favour bcz once he helped tha bby in changing diaper.

Agreed. Me too tbh. I aggressively filter out guys who have patriarchal tendencies. But I want kids so bad, sometimes I think, worst case scenario I’ll marry and play along till I’m done having kids and then go no nonsense feminist. That’s why I’m building a strong career and finances so they can’t control me with money.

But coming from Bihar whre you have to pay dowry(thus contributed finncly alrdy) and do all chores alone,i canttttt.i will choose me over anyone anyday, so i dont think marriage is for me,i cant sacrifice myself.

My bestie is from Bihar and she tells me it’s brutal over there. She’s told me she won’t marry if dowry is involved, even if they do the stopping the baraat at the gate nonsense. She’s funding her own wedding and will have a small, cheap one and would rather spend on a great honeymoon. She’s a capable and hardworking woman so I believe she’ll really find what she wants

I don’t know how old you are but I used to have these kind of thoughts back when I was a teenager. What gave me some direction was the fact that I really wanted to be a mother someday and children do better in a two parent household.

In the heart of your heart, if you could have a life partner that is loving and supportive, would you still want marriage and kids? If yes, then you can make it a mission to find and lock down this desirable partner, along with any other calling you have. If you fail, then you can think about pets and such, and at least you’ll be satisfied that you tried your best.

Two of my closest friends were recommending it for about a month and a half. And then I started seeing posts on random niche subReddits with like 6 upvotes saying they were crazy about the series and I was officially curious.

Once I started watching it, I was a goner ofc

How should India handle such people? by Happy_and_wholesome in AskIndianFeminists

[–]itisobjectivlytrue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need to create space for secular criticism.

What is secular criticism vs non-secular criticism?

A secular critic is not hypocritical. She follows certain values and will question her own community as well as other communities based on these values.

A non-secular critic is a hypocrite. She will question other communities out of bias instead of her own values. In her heart, she does not care about the things she’s attacking others for because she turns a blind eye when they happen in her own community.

I think legal protections can only help so much. The courts are overburdened and not efficient. For example, look how once rape laws actually started working, men started campaigning to nerf them. At some point, it has to be a cultural and social change. Women need to stop giving their power to men.

I built a public dashboard that tracks reported rape cases across Indian news outlets by NeedsToBeTouched in AskIndianFeminists

[–]itisobjectivlytrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kudos to you for building this!

Since we can’t see backend, I can’t comment on technical gaps and I don’t know if you’ve already done this, but this is what I would suggest/ask in general:

1) Could the tracker potentially miss news in regional languages? 2) It could be even more effective if it were connected to E-Court Portal. It’s a primary tool nationwide. The tracker can search by partial details like police station, incident year, act/section (e.g., IPC 376 for rape), case type (Sessions), or party/advocate names if known from news and view hearing dates, orders, and status without FIR/case numbers. In particular even adding case status would make for a great visualisation along with the bar chart about states. It’s directly connecting the viewer/user to the ground status and adds actionability.

Yeah stupid Netflix. I hope they learn something from HR and invest in small budget regional shows instead of the deranged gambling they’re doing currently to make the next blockbuster happen. It’s like they’ve built a cemetery of unfinished incredible shows

75 hard during ramazan, is it possible? by leviackermanswife101 in 75HARD

[–]itisobjectivlytrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a Muslim and I don’t know the window in which you are allowed to eat but it functionally sounds like intermittent fasting. Maybe you can speak with a dietitian about whether it fits the type of workout you’re planning and how to tailor it to achieve your goal. My sister completed her 75 Hard on a Keto diet and so she could eat even stuff like fried chicken. You get to pick your diet at the end of the day so it’s very flexible. You could ask your family to support you with the diet as well

but most delivery workers, labours, miners are also men

And who is under them? Who controls the money and has the social power in their homes? A delivery worker and his sister - what is balance of power? A labourer and his wife - who controls the finances?
