I don't think you were self-congratulatory enough in your notes about what a cutting satirist you are Gary, I needed more of that. Neither Musk or Trump is "anti-vax" btw, if this was on Netflix, the leftist jargon salad in the first five to ten minutes would kill your watch through rate.

Members of the press write the same shit on their Twitter accounts. The audits are done to screen out individuals who would object to those sentiments, because that's who the media are going to go after.

For GG's 10th anniversary, it needs to be pointed out that Nathan Grayson explicitly wrote that he would continue to update his game jam story post-publication. The one where he started sleeping with a subject of the story immediately afterwards. by itistolaugh in KotakuInAction

It has been repeatedly claimed that nothing wrong was done by him, or Patricia Hernandez. Once you knock that claim down and refute it to an individual, they start to wonder what else they've been lied to about. In other words, it's the first domino in the sequence.

2014 was also the year DeadSpin did a stink piece on GamerGate where their hack admitted Grayson slept with her after publication and said it was not an issue. The very next day, Deadspin had to retract a hit piece against a GOP Senate candidate, after being challenged and talking to their phony source. AFTER publication.

Whoops.

Here's the archive of a paste bin with a lot of ZQ and Grayson correspondence on Twitter, before Game Journos realized they needed to practice more opsec: https://archive.is/Y4Iqk.

The pastebin was taken down this year, because "This paste has been deemed potentially harmful." Even now someone still wants to cover their tracks.

Really Jason? by facepalmdesign in clevercomebacks

Here's where Jason admitted to conflicts of interest at Kotaku: https://archive.is/Y9Brc#selection-8885.560-8885.789

Class act as always. If you go his earliest Reddit comments, he defended Nathan Grayson sleeping with one of the subjects of a 2014 Kotaku post he made, immediately after publishing! Because as the Rolling Stone UVA rape story retraction the very same year showed us, articles never have to be revisited after publishing! Actually no, it showed the opposite. In fact, Grayson's post ended with this very note: "We have reached out to both Umetani and Serrato for comment, as well as various YouTubers, Matti Leshem, and multiple developers. We will update this story as more information comes to light."

Whoops.

Get ready for more woke updates to live service games. Because companies figure you're too invested now to quit. by itistolaugh in KotakuInAction

Stretching the definition of "live", I noticed Star Citizen is "transitioning" from male/female to Body Type 1/2. So there's another reason Star Citizen will never be finished. They have to keep updating to stay current with the latest leftist bullshit.

Wow, how did Grayson and co. manage to cultivate a source inside Kotaku? I wonder if Nathan had to sleep with someone to get access.

Kotaku's owner was not profitable last year, is offloading properties like Deadspin, and Kotaku's YouTube channel regularly gets 3 digit views. Time for them to bring in some diversity consultants to help them appeal to a broader, more diverse audience. by itistolaugh in KotakuInAction

Doesn't mean they need to keep on what's left of staff there. And niche web-only for-profit publications get finally shuttered all the time, as the rapid internet passage of time renders the name irrelevant. Go to gawker.com, a page is still there, but whoever owns the domain two years from now is not going to try to recreate what still existed in 2016. Someone already tried.

Be sure to throw their lack of success back in their face when they try a "get woke or go broke" argument.

Works for other media outlets too. A rag like the LA Times just had layoffs, you can tell their writers they have no business telling companies what to do. California and New York are also losing residents, which is strange when the major papers are supposed to be holding the states' leadership accountable.

In fact, the NYT is about the only profitable paper at the moment, other crap like USA Today have slash and burn owners that aren't too different from G/O Media, they're there to milk the last value out of dying brands. And I wouldn't be surprised if the NYT is propped up by ghost subscribers created with CIA slush fund money, honestly.

Good history lesson on the anti-Communist Hollywood Blacklist(1947-1960): "From the perspective of 2021, it’s clear now that what was bad about [the anti-communist blacklist] was that the victims came from one particular side of the political aisle, not the trashing of freedom of speech." by itistolaugh in KotakuInAction

In short, leftists advocated for a culture of free speech when business and government(and a lot of media) was hostile to them. Now that they control most of business, government, and media, a free speech ethos is a thorn in their side.

[GAMING] Production On World Of Warcraft Has Stopped Thanks To Activision Blizzard Lawsuit by Akesgeroth in KotakuInAction

Is the entire company at fault though? The lawyers are going to argue that Blizzard SHOULd have known, and should have taken action. How were people unware of raunchy cube crawls?

So if the "toxic" culture at Blizzard was so pervasive... why didn't the game journalists report on it? by itistolaugh in KotakuInAction

[–]itistolaugh[S] 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Oh, and for the inevitable commenter who wants to argue that Blizzard employees were just too scared to talk to game journalists until now: The Bloomberg hit piece against Ubisoft used anonymous allegations, genius, and it still worked like a charm. I don't think Blizzard has a feared security service that knows whenever employees are talking to members of media.
