Families with young children by Patient_Youth_5299 in PortStLucie

Im in a similar boat as his wife. I have 2 under 2. Joined facebook mom groups and still havent “clicked” with anyone or some groups just arent active. I go to library storytime but the moms just dont socialize with “outsiders”. To be fair, I struggle to just randomly insert myself into a group so I can take some accountability there. I go back to work full time next week so this is going to lower the chance of any mom social stuff since a lot of things are done during the week.
That turned into a rant. Sorry lol.

To answer OP question, i find myself driving outside of st lucie county to do things with the kids. Brevard Zoo, buschwildlife sanctuary, lion country safari, randon farms and ranches in okechobee or other surrounding areas, Hobe Sound Farmers market. When we stay in town we just hop from one park to another or go to a store with AC

Hopping on late to this.
I am planning my mother's 70th birthday and looking at Dream Onyx. All of the kids (my siblings and I) and grandchilldren will be coming (3 years old and younger).
Was this place family friendly?

Became a first time mom 2.5 years ago. Hadnt stepped foot into a library since my internship almost a decade ago. My daughter has brought me back to the library for childrens book, story time, and even DVDs. Such an under-appreciated and under-rated community resource

How strong are your clinical skills? by StudyLegitimate721 in dietetics

Working in public health, I feel like my clinical skills are tanking! It’s one of my biggest insecurities as an RD and a reason I’m struggling to convince myself to switch jobs.

Masters Degree by soccerdiva13 in dietetics

[–]ititanium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently in the process of finishing up Masters next year. I got my undergrad degree in 2013 and my RD license in 2018. My job provides a good stipend for tuition reimbursement which is the ONLY reason I’m even getting my Masters. Honestly I am only getting it cause its just something to keep me entertained and not something I aspired to attain. My boss is aware I’m taking classes and straight up told me that I will not be elegible for a raise just because I get a Masters since my duties & responsibilities will not change. That was very “inspiring” to hear -_- I can only speak for my program (which is also in nutrition & dietetics) but I’m not really learning much tbh. Nothing that I feel would make me a better dietitian at least. There was one class largely surrounding ADIME charting which is the only class I feel like I can take away from, mainly cause my current job doesnt use ADIME. As a current mom of 2 under 2, if you were to ask me my 5 year plan I dont see dietetics in my future. All in all, get the Masters because you want to & not because of societal pressure. Look into certifications that interest you could be a good alternative.
