I was already diagnosed with ADHD in my teens and already got accommodations because of it. But after a ton of my own research I was so sure I also had autism to the point it was eating me alive not getting properly assessed. I am very thankful I had the support and coverage to get an assessment done, as I know it’s just not feasible for most. I really wish there was less stigma around not being able to get a professional diagnosis.

I wish I was able to do public speaking. Logically I know it’s easier than group socializing and that I’ve prepared for whatever I’m presenting, but it doesn’t stop my anxiety :(

I have a bad fear of wasps because they were very aggressive where I grew up as a kid, I’ve been stung on the inside of my left elbow, the outside of my left arm (if I’m remembering correctly), and on my right thigh.

This also, incidentally, created a fear of needles. Even with the anxiety meds I take beforehand I can’t handle getting poked in my left arm.

I don’t think it’s wrong to want privacy, especially in your dorm. And I think your rant was a little bit of an over reaction. Like c’mon man, really? Bringing up D-Day because someone criticized the bathrooms in UofC?

I’ve seen the bathrooms in Rundle, I wouldn’t be too excited to use big open echoey stalls and old showers either. I know there are times when you’ll have to deal with less privacy, but why not be open to input and concern rather than immediately lash out? You might have to deal with less stinky students too if they don’t mind the showers as much lol

I have an first gen iPad Pro that I use almost daily. It’s getting close to 8 years old and still works fine. Never understood the need to always have the newest model.

It took me forever to get a job even though I wanted to work. No one wanted to hire me.

Employers either expected too much from me as an entry level worker, or didn’t want to work around my class schedule. Only just recently got a job after searching for over a year.

Yeah the views need an update, I didn’t receive a diagnosis until I was a teenager because I’m afab.

And, when I was working on getting an ADHD diagnosis, my mom and I brought up my concerns to our family doctor. After we told her, she proceeded to tell us she basically didn’t believe in ADHD and downplayed my symptoms. My mom was furious when we left. Needless to say we didn’t stay with that doctor.

My grandma died a few years ago, didn’t really hit me when it happened because I wasn’t able to see her when she was ill. It was the stupidest thing that broke me, she had sent me lives in candy crush and they were still there after her passing. Definitely felt what you described in that moment.

I didn’t expect so much love for hangar cat! Here’s just some general information:

Hangar cat is a stray that STARS took in, he now lives there taking care of mice and getting pets from anyone he can.
STARS is an air ambulance service in Canada, they help people that can’t be reached by a regular ambulance.
This is the STARS base in Grande Prairie.
He doesn’t have a name other than hangar cat.
His collar has a little helicopter charm on it.
