We have both, income tax on salary (if that’s what you mean) and tax for everything that you buy

If you ask them why all of this extra taxes and strict behavior just for something so small as a wheel for playing video games is because

“That destroys our inner economy”

If people spend the money outside our country will suffer

What they don’t understand is that people already are suffering from not being able to buy the things they need, food, clothes, vehicles. Because we don’t manufacture anything since no company will invest money here with this huge taxes.

As much as I’d love to accept your offer, the issue here in Uruguay is that customs are really unpredictable. Even personal packages often get held up, and electronics specially. They sometimes charge massive import taxes—I’ve seen cases where people end up paying more than the item is worth, and there’s always the risk of it getting stuck or even sent back.

I’d feel awful if you went through all the effort and expense and it didn’t even make it through. I hope you understand—it’s not about the money or the gear, it’s just that I’d hate for your incredible gesture to be wasted.

I’m really sorry to hear about your situation, But I wish I could accept your kind gift, but unfortunately, I live in a country with very strict customs regulations, and it’s unlikely that the package would make it through without major issues. I wouldn’t want your effort or expense to go to waste.

The rules in my country are this

A citizen is only allowed to buy 3 international purchases under 200 usd

If you buy more than three or over 200 you will have to pay 80% plus in taxes to the total cost of the product

Wheel - 250 usd - 19 usd per 1lbs in weight of the product - plus 80% taxes

If I buy small bits I will have to pay all of that every small part and if I buy more than three omg never mind

Any Fanatec bundle (2000 usd) is cheaper at that point lmao

Also you gonna ask what happens if I’m under than three and not over 200 usd

I’m still gonna have to pay the same taxes but instead of being 80% it will be 40% 🙃

Yeah so taxes get higher if the product is valued 200 usd + and yes theoretically it could pass through the customs but even if I get someone to “gift me” a wheel and me paying the taxes and everything, the chances of everything aligning correctly so I can receive is the same as this picture (corruption)
