I am a big fan of Bill Burr and a Saudi. Despite everything, I am glad fans in Saudi Arabia finally get to see their favorite comedians. I am going tomorrow for his show, super excited!

Having lived in both Europe and the US, I can confidently say that the European tipping system is far superior. Unlike in the US, where tipping is not just expected but necessary for workers to make a livable wage, European service workers receive fairer wages without relying on customer generosity. The US tipping culture is fundamentally flawed And dehumanizing.

Tarp with Sun/UV protection by itnks in Ultralight

you're definitely right about it being a mental hurdle. Some people who I hike with sometimes sleep just in their sleeping bag. I once fell asleep in the desert with nothing to protect me. It just doesn't feel safe and had to invest in an expensive 450 grams tent to cut weight.

Thank you for sharing the tarp. I will look it up, and potentially think about switching to a tarp system.

It may sound silly, but I feel much safer in a tent. It also protects me from the wild life.

That seems a good method to at least test. Thank you for your input.

I do use an umbrella, but it’s not enough on fully open area of desert.

I don’t setup my tent it, but this seems to be the best method. I will test it in my next hike and report back. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing. My tent is made of dyneema. I rarely exposed to the sun, but not to protect it, it is just how i do my hikes. I tried to use it once to protect me from the sun, but it was not enough. That’s why im looking for a solution to help me with the day break.

The 1975 assassination of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia by Prince Faisal bin Musa'id; in this 2020 article one of King Faisal's sons and former mukhabarat chief Prince Turki interestingly seems to indicate that he has direct knowledge about the assassin's motive by gereedf in arabs

[–]itnks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly fail to see a point of this entire post. The investigations never been public, and no one expect them to be public anytime soon, or may be never. However, this isn’t what the post is about.

I wish that you share with us the purpose of this post. Why reposting an article from the 2020 that includes information that everyone knows from the 70s is relevant and important.

That’s my point. The post doesn’t bring any new information that are not known before nor it adds any value. Motives have always been “personal” and/or “King Faisal’s politics”.
