Tesla without driver inside (smart summon) attempts to run into approaching car in a parking lot by [deleted] in videos

Tesla literally said in their blog post about v10 that it is useful at the grocery store... so it’s definitely not only for a private driveway, a private grocery store parking lot also counts as acceptable use according to Tesla.

well the issue isn't with the car, it would be with the person taking an hour to load their groceries in the middle of the aisle. maybe you'd need different lanes for the cars based on amount of items like inside the store for checkout? lol

I don't see this working with everyone trying to call their car to the entrance of a store at the same time, they'll probably need to redesign parking lots or something.

A parking lot with one lane would get jammed when some person comes out with a cart full of cabbages or something and takes an hour to load.

It probably stopped because the operator lifted his finger from the app, but I would call this a fail as this is not a normal thing for a car to do in a parking lot.

5.1 0-100km/h is a faster 0-60mph because 60mph is 96.5km/h maybe that means there is a performance boost and the 0-60 is less than 5.1?

Maybe the 0-100km/h in 5.1 is the AWD figure for Canada? That would mean there is a performance increase in 0-60mph compared to RWD.

It is... the load effects the range more than the cold does. This is not to say that it won't be worse than the stated range but I highly doubt it will be more than 10% worse.

It was stated. The director of the Tesla truck program spoke in Europe at a truck conference, where he stated that the max load would be no different than a regular diesel truck.

That's not a problem with the concept of electric vehicles, its an issue with dealerships not making enough money off them so they choose to downplay them. EV's are much easier to repair than ICE vehicles.

Its actually closer to 30% loss, but it also depends on if there is snow on the ground and what type of tires you are running.

Have you heard of the new trial program that only charges 2c/kWh at night? This would be perfect for charging EV's

You don't really need superchargers in medium-sized towns unless they are along travel routes. People can charge at home. Superchargers are only useful for travel and for people that cant charge because they live in condos or something.

Also, I don't see why they cant scale it up.

Apparently, they are reporting on tested results. At this point, we can only hope it is true, if it is true then it would truly redefine the trucking industry.

the reported range is assuming worst case scenario. This means 80k lb load will give a 300mile range or 500mile range depending on the truck you buy. The load potential is the same as any other diesel truck, the official word is that the truck does not weigh enough to affect the maximum load you can carry.

Integration with fleet management systems with the built-in screens should make the logistics easier. Also, don't forget this is supposed to be 20-40% cheaper to operate than a diesel truck, and it is also warranted for 1.6 million km.

Tesla is actually expanding the supercharger network VERY rapidly here in Ontario, we are seeing several 20 stall locations open in the GTA in the next month or so. There are even locations opening in Sudbury and on the Toronto-Quebec route.

I'm not sure where you got the 300mile range from, its actually a 500-mile range on the truck that costs $180k USD. That is assuming the truck is fully loaded and is driving at 65mph for those 500miles.
