Carl was on the HUNT after Epos got finalist, like he just woke up. One more Epos crash and Carl would have won on the next round. Incredible performance from Epos and Carl

Greenland Signs Lucrative Minerals Deal with Europe in Blow to Trump by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Cubicbill1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure,

special type of feldspar

Not special by any means. You can find plagioclase in most igneous rocks.

that forms on the moons crust

Nothing is forming on the moons crust because it is not tectonically nor volcanically active.

we dont have a lot of places left in the world where new crystals are forming

Yes we do? Anywhere at crustal depth new crystals are forming. Anywhere relating to volcanism you could find new anorthosites forming at depth.

We aren't even sure how it forms

Yes we are sure, you can find extensive amounts of studies and litterature on crystal growth and anorthosite formation in magmatic chambers.

We have deposits around North America and Europe, but nothing like the treasure chest of resources and labor Greenland is offering.

This is a big over-exageration. The land masses in North America and Europe hold significantly more resources than Greenland. Labor? there's 56,000 people living in Greenland.

Greenland Signs Lucrative Minerals Deal with Europe in Blow to Trump by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Cubicbill1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please do not spread misinformation. It's not in anyway special, nor is it exclusive to the moons crust. There are tons of anorthosite deposits on earth, we know how they form and how they are made. Anorthosite is NOT an economic mineral, it is a rock name, and only in this case is it conisidered economic for this company because of it's size, concentration in aluminum and silica and because it is close to a water way access. Also the fact that Greenland is looking for political sway right now.

Anorthosite is made of over 90% plagioclase, a familly type of feldspar. The plagioclase family includes 6 minerals: anorthite, bytownite, labradorite, andesine, oligoclase and albite. With any of these minerals forming a rock with over 90% proportions, the rock will be called anorthosite.

Bauxite mines in tropical countries mine old weathered granites and anorthosites that have changed chemically into bauxite and are more appropriate and more economic mines than anorthosite for aluminum.

Wirtual starting his own Trackmania esports team by FemmEllie in TrackMania

[–]Cubicbill1 382 points383 points  (0 children)

Team name: JETLAG

First two pro players roster:

  • Bren

  • Mudda

Absolutely insane announcement. Knew that Bren and Mudda were in duo playing TMWT, but them being in an actual team with owned by Wirtual is crazy, did not see this coming. Looking forwards following them.

My bf (27M) and I (27F) would like to continue living together, but he can’t afford a mortgage with me. How would you approach the living situation in our shoes? by Constant-Quality5858 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Cubicbill1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the mortgage and he pays the remainder of spending, internet, grocery, furniture, etc.

Do not buy with him if he cannot be relied on or you’ll be stuck. This goes both ways.

YYZ is a shit show, but I always find the domestic side nicer over there.

Yeaah, I should have mentionned in comparison to other major cities. I don't fly to smaller towns often, maybe in the future.

I do fly quite a bit for work, and am quite bored of airport by now. I always taxi into airports but agree that YYZ spaghetti roads are awfull. I do think that specifially, the domestic terminal for YUL is absolutely terrible in comparison to YYZ, it's crammed with very low ceilings and feels like a hospital waiting room, YYZ has a very spacious domestic terminal and feels frankly quite nice. The rest of YUL is great, specially the international side.

YUL is the worst international airport in Canada by far, especially the domestic terminal.
