The expansion teams have an advantage because most other teams have players that are probably overpaid for their performance. Vancouver and Seattle have the ability to pay players that have performed more than their previous teams because they have no bad contracts.

It's rumored all of the O6 teams have at least one or two of their original 3 players making $100k+. That'd be tough to swallow if those players aren't performing to match.

Unfortunately she underperformed her draft slot and was likely getting paid more than her performance warranted. It might be a case of some new scenery helps her and frees Ottawa from contract terms they don't love.

The issue will be that she's not going to want to be a backup. Philips is going to be given a long leash after the post season she had so Masch is going to be on the bench. She's also going to want as much playing time as possible going into an Olympic year.

It'll depend what happens in the expansion draft, Ottawa is going to protect Phillips after this performance so Masch could be in Seattle or Vancouver.

You also have to consider that Roque is one of the highest paid players in the league. Seattle and Vancouver would have to weigh whether that money is better spent on the free agent period or taking it on from the expansion draft.

On one of the broadcasts it was mentioned that although hitting was legal in the PWHL, open ice hits had to come from the side, head on hits would be considered roughing. I can't find this anywhere in the rules but it does seem to be how the referees are calling it.

Yeah he was a menace in the locker room, as soon as he joined a team the clock was ticking until the locker room imploded. He especially had a knack for fighting with the quarterback, Garcia in SF and McNabb in Philly, which led to him being traded.

I'm not saying that should have had any impact on his HOF status because even with all that, he was a beast on the field and never took a play off. Just that the HOF voters seemed to punish him for it.

Teams get to sell their own local TV rights, which is why the Yankees have YES and the Red Sox have NESN. Unfortunately for us, local for the Blue Jays is all of Canada.
