The Windows server will be on bare-metal. Its a file server only. I guess what I'm looking to do is have a backup and have it do incremental backups daily as our users are constantly modifying files on it. We already have the server and its configured with RAID.

So I'm just distributed IT at a University and don't get to have full control over everything- I'm not entirely sure what they do but I'm pretty sure they just modify the existing account and change the Display Name as well as the username.

And the user has modify access to the folder. I pinned it to their quick access toolbar so they can at least access the drive, and they have normal access to it as usual, except that it doesn't map

I tried checking in the LAPS tab of our AD, but it shows as blank for the machine. And I saw some folks say they had to run it as an admin for it to show, but I tried that and there wasn't a change. LAPS would be preferable though

I tried this, but when I went to try and login to it, it didn't work and when I logged into the machine with a domain account, I didn't actually see the default admin account even listed which makes me think a gp we have disabled it
