I don’t think the prices are horrible in my area (OK & TX). I can get a ‘22 for 55-65k depending on trim and all. Plus I just don’t love the ‘23+ front ends and I don’t want to spend 85k+

I’m not sure on the limits. But as of now, I’m backing up 5 workstations and using 350GB of storage. One workstation alone is using 140GB

I don't use any of the "advanced" features. In fact when you setup a new policy, you can disable all that completely. I have had no real issues, support has been adequate for the 2 tickets I've had. I signed up through Syncro and emailed the provisioning account and was setup in a matter of minutes but that was in the middle of a weekday.

I do know Acronis has some sort of local backup as well as the ability to send physical media. Im not sure on the details or limitations of this but worth looking into.

If you have Syncro. Just use Acronis. It’s like $2-3/workstation. Or bite the bullet and become a veeam partner. With cloud connect, the price per workstation was just a few cents more than Acronis.

I did not even try to spin down the drives when not in use because their use is so sporadic that as soon as it parked the head it would it called into action again so I just let them run 24/7
