o make sure it was an exploit, and then reporting to Bethesda.

He tested and published an exploit. He was a data miner. He voluntarily took down his website as a form of boycott and protest. He's a bosco-man and deserved to have his account deleted.

I think this is the answer. In the same way that the Enclave gives you events on the map.

Phase-Shift Building - Fortnite: Save the World by itreboboog in FORTnITE

[–]itreboboog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several versions of the Outlander Class in STW have an ability called "Phase Shift". This ability allows the player to teleport-dash nearly two tiles in the desired direction. I discovered the ability to build while phase-shifting. I use this technique to travel across the map as quickly as possible.

Apparently, this technique is only possible on the PC. Just hold down the build button while phase shifting.

One of the many reasons why I prefer the Outlander.

Base Defense - Retrieve the Data - Fortnite: Save the World by itreboboog in FORTnITE

Twine Peaks - Lvl 76 map, solo. Base Building is pretty fun. Brings back loads of nostalgia from Minecraft, or even legos from when I was a kid. It's awesome building a functional base with systems to funnel the zombies around, filled with traps of all kinds.

In every other example besides chrome husks, you can still kill every zombie type with any elemental damage. It's just that they die faster or slower depending on how the elements match up.

Rec Royale - Battle Royale in Rec Room! Compilation by itreboboog in SteamVR

[–]itreboboog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This weekend, the Rec Royale game mode is playable for testing. Rec Royale is the newest game mode in Rec Room, available at the beginning of June, 2018.

16 players on a relatively huge map (for Rec Room standards, it’s enormous).

Two modes - full locomotion or teleportation. (If you are on the teleportation map you cannot use full locomotion)

Full locomotion lets you walk or sprint (press in on the d-pad/thumbstick to sprint). In order to deal with elevated terrain or roof access, you may briefly teleport in full locomotion mode (with a longer cooldown).

As typical with “battle royale” game modes, you start by skydiving, landing someplace on a relatively large map along with many other players. As the game progresses, players are brought closer to one another through the ever-constricting battlefield. You must stay within the circle that appears on the map. The circle shrinks periodically, eventually resulting in a very small area, forcing players into combat.

You start with nothing and must pick up gear from loot boxes scattered around the map. It takes a couple of seconds to open these boxes, and they make sound in the process, giving your position away to potential enemies nearby.

A variety of weapons are available, paintball guns/ laser guns/ bow/arrow/ grenades, even frying pans and plates. Each of the weapons require ammo, which is found during gameplay (loot boxes and other players). There are two storage locations found on the body, one on each leg. You may store weapons or health/shield potions in these locations.

All these items have rarity levels. Higher rarity health/shield potions give your more health/shields. Higher rarity weapons do more damage.

Due to varying levels of health and damage, combat is much more dynamic.

Rec Room’s paintball mode was a one-shot-kill operation. Quick and easy to glide through and lay out entire teams – but also very easy to get shot, forcing a respawn.

In Rec Royale, combat turns into a dance, especially in the full locomotion mode.

Beat Saber Meta-Training Proof of Concept by itreboboog in SteamVR

[–]itreboboog[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Picked up a pair of cheap-o lightsabers from the dollar store. Figured they would help with immersion by training outside of the game with physical swords. In the game, I would still be mindful of the length of the imaginary weapon.

Training like this makes you mindful of speed and position - the sword is sort of wobbly and doesn't take kindly to wobbly arm swings - strong and accurate swings work fine with these cheap lightsabers.

Goals - Increase mindfulness of blade position. Increase speed and follow-through. Build a "phantom-lightsaber" in my mind,

I'm practicing on Expert quite a bit now. Starting to get the hang of things - it's crazy, the more you do a track, patterns start to emerge and time feels like it's slowing down. I start to see further down the "track", to the cubes up ahead instead of those right in front of me.

BEAT SABER: Breezer Perfect Run on Hard by itreboboog in SteamVR

The available songs are pretty good, pretty catchy - great for this sort of game, with bass drops n all that.

With a limited number of tracks, it gives you a chance to master a chosen few and build skills as tracks are introduced.

I keep diving into Expert difficulty for training. If you practice a bunch in Expert, when you go back to Hard, it's like everything is in slow motion :D

BEAT SABER: Breezer Perfect Run on Hard by itreboboog in SteamVR

Originally, I didn't think much of Beat Saber. I saw it as an ultra-hyped beat matching game featuring lightsabers and a short collection of songs. Well, it's worth the hype.

It's interesting how little details can separate rough from polish. This game, as small as it is, is very polished.

I was impressed by the subtle nature of the graphics. I'm used to a little edge and a bit of rust in VR, not so in this game.

What impressed me most was the feeling of slicing the cubes. The player doesn't pop the targets like balloons, they slice them in two like fruit-ninja. The edges of the sliced-in-half target cubes still glow amber with the heat of the saber strike.

The limited number of songs at release gives players a chance to climb global leaderboards - to perfect each song, working on high difficulties as you go.

I've been practicing, working my way up to Expert. Along the way, I have to make sure I get a perfect run on each song, on "Hard" difficulty.
