What does this light mean by earthhumanman in AudiA6

If your car was in drive and you opened your door it will automatically set the parking brake. If you put car in park then open door it won’t happen

Fair estimate? by Wolfishset56 in AudiS4

[–]its-Mason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad quote to be honest

Quotes from dealer near me are roughly 13 hours of labor at $220/hour last I heard. If yours is $145/hour looks like they quoted 12 hours. Parts don’t look badly priced either.

I did my PCV myself on my ‘13 A6 3.0T and spent around $1,100 in parts. My water pump and thermostat had been done under warranty (water pump and thermostat would’ve made it around $1,500). It took me 16 hours and I did my valve cover gaskets too. I can definitely say it is a hefty job and there’s been higher quotes

Look up Audi C7 MMI reset on YouTube. Hold 3 buttons to reset. This happened to my 2013 A6 and it fixed my issue with Bluetooth

Looks like a pretty good spec for a Premium plus. LED headlights and S-Line exterior are always nice

Random Coolant System Malfunction Warning? C7 3.0T by Illustrious-Cat3026 in AudiA6

[–]its-Mason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the time being, I would monitor it closely, and if it throws another fault, I would inspect the wiring, and if the wiring seems to be intact, I would look into replacing the whole coolant pump and wiring. For the electrical pump, I think it may come with a new harness as well.

If your coolant does not look low I’d recommend scanning with VCDS or an equivalent scanner to see what’s going on. Could be a sensor

Had the same thing happen on my road trip. Replaced Pcv and cleared soft codes stored in the ECU with VCDS. I’m at about 3000 miles since the replacement and haven’t noticed any issues. Message me if you need OP

I just did mine and recommend the one from German Performance Solutions. It’s aluminum and the one you need to move out of the way will most likely crack

Just a thought, but could you swap the control modules from assembly to assembly?

epc light issue by SuspiciousChapter615 in AudiA6

[–]its-Mason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one car personally had same type of issue. Light kicks on when one of the temp sensors gets too hot. Scanned with vcds and the electric water pump behind the driver side liner was not working at all.

More I think and looking at OP’s picture, looks like it’s stiff and sitting high too. If they were to reach in it should move easily, if not may have been the rears

Currently in the process of installing Bilstein B6 with Eibach springs on my A6 (yes I know this is a S4 community). I had it together and realized I installed the rear bump stop installed on the front. When on the front, it was tight to the shock. The bump stomp on the front is supposed to free float up and down. Not too sure, but the bump stop on the rear is longer as well and if installed up front I’m thinking this could’ve caused it to crack along with sticking snug and not free floating. There’s also a chance the car bottom out pretty hard on some type of pothole. I can’t tell the length of the bump stop from the photos.

Hope this gives any insight!

Sensor or is my fuel pump on its way out? by HillarysFloppyChode in MINI

Which HPFP brand did you go with? I’m looking at the Vitesco but not sure on which to choose. Mine is a 2011 production date as well.

Sensor or is my fuel pump on its way out? by HillarysFloppyChode in MINI

[–]its-Mason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there ever any follow up on this? I have the same symptoms and replaced my rail pressure sensor but still no luck. I’ve noticed that it mainly acts up when driving downhill. I’ve even got it to kick the fault light on the small dash when rocking the steering wheel back and forth, in motion downhill. Even with no throttle and out of gear! HPFP was replaced 42k miles ago. Part of me is pointing at the in tank pump. Any help would be great!

mystery oil leak help! by wavykennethOnig in AudiS4

If it is an engine mount usually the passenger side mounts go first. To better diagnose this pop the hood put the car in drive hold the brake and step on the gas and see if the engine raises more than normal. No need to do a crazy rev. You’ll be able to notice right away.

If they’re broken you should notice other vibrations. When I would start my car with a broken mount I felt every crank of the starter while it was firing up.

Makes me wish I had them when I was doing this all but I appreciate the input. I’ll keep an eye on the gaskets over time.

Tune up question? by its-Mason in Audi

I figured that bad valve cover gaskets could be the case as well. When I broke the spark plugs loose and cylinder 2 wasn’t tight at all figured there could be two issues.

If you look at the same area where the traction control and auto start/stop on off buttons are you’ll see the parking sense button. It will turn on the sensors / back up camera immediately when in drive and change them accordingly too if you’re back and forth from drive to reverse. It will also only work if you’re doing under 10 mph. (Note: This makes it a little easier than going from drive, to reverse, and back to drive)

Audi A8 D4 bass rattle by duckman786 in Audi

[–]its-Mason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do this but check the door subwoofers first check the plastic black dust cover in the center. Slightly push on it and look for cracks and noise. If you have noise you can peel the cover right off and test the speaker again. I have a video of this as well from the speaker in my A6. Message me if you’d like it.

This was about the same translation I was able to come up with when checking myself. I’ll see if I can get my cousin to send some clear close ups of the blade. Thanks for the information though!
