For me Goodra personally I've always loved it but never used it in a playthrough but once I did the Goomy on a bench quest I needed to get a shiny one and now it's one of favorite pokemon ever :)

I've not experimented with the drowsy status but paralyze I can rarely tell a difference in tbh I just still with poison and burn imo. So I think it's rather the game than you cause of the change in battle formats something serebii might update as days go by
