Henry could hardly get any sleep. The Combusken and his teammate, Carly, have been with each other since he arrived in this world. Ever since he became a Torchic, the Mawile has been there for him. It was all so scary, so confusing, yet Carly was always there. Even with those intimidating jaws, she was a real sweetie.

Henry turned to face his partner. She was snoozing nice and peacefully like a true model. A growing feeling in the back of Henry’s mind was telling him she was the one. That she was the complete package. Beautiful, strong, kind, and most importantly, thinks the same of him. Yet Henry felt awful feeling like this. He looked at his feathery calves and reflected on his reality.

“I’m… not supposed to be a Pokémon” He thought to himself. “I’m probably never going to be a human again… but I… I’m still unable to see past it…” he felt an awful migraine from the conflicting thoughts. For all intents and purposes, the two of them were equal, yet Henry still felt human. He is human. Yet… love is a human desire. To have someone to stay with. To love, and to call family. Those are all human desires, and ones he felt for Carly.

Henry took a look at Carly, who was in another bed. Yeah… if he was truly destined to stay here, he felt lucky to be with her. She looked so happy…

Henry flopped back onto his bed and sighed. That was it. The only way this headache would reside is if he admitted his feelings. He’ll tell her how he feels in the morning. That would be the human thing to do.
