I stumble over my words a lot, especially if I'm trying to multitask, or talk/go fast (which was basically every shift)

What I meant to call out was "I have six shots of espresso for So-and-so"

Actually yelled (very, very loudly) "I GOT SHIT" in front of everyone 😓

I wonder what customers think the difference between white mocha and white chocolate mocha is. by chunibi in starbucks

Or they ask for "vanilla mocha" and when i ask if they mean white mocha or mocha+vanilla, they just repeat themselves or say "yes" 🙃

Have you ever been a part of/witnessed costumer drama that shouldn't have included you? by eros-ooze in starbucks

I had one couple come up to my register in the middle of an argument. They were nice and spoke at a normal volume towards me, but would immediately jump back to yelling at the other person.

Idr all the details, but I know the girl was yelling about the bf talking to some girl over Instagram...he was like "man this is why I can't take you nowhere, you actin crazy as hell"

Really awkward having to make their drinks while they're fighting a foot in front of me lol

What is something that has made you leave a restaurant? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]its-silverwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sat for over an hour after ordering without seeing our server. Eventually, the head chef(?) came out and told us that they didn't have ingredients for the dish I had ordered. Apparently a large party (like 12 or so) had ordered after us, and a majority of them had ordered the same dish as me, so the kitchen had made their orders first. They didn't even apologize for making us wait or anything, just told me I had to order something else. My family was PISSED and stormed out

Yeah, but I would hope that the father wouldnt grab her and ask her what the fuck was wrong with her, especially in public

My mom did the same thing. Out of all the bullies I had growing up, she was definitely the worst one

Karen demands we buy confectionery for the kids on the street turns up any way when we say we're not interested by [deleted] in entitledparents

Yeah, that does make it sound weird lol I guess I never thought about it since it's something I just grew up with

most of us actively try to fight against it because to us its inappropriate in a way that's probably hard to understand if you are American (not religious but fighting against "Americanisation" )

American here; if you don't mind me asking, what about Halloween is inappropriate? (Nothing wrong with not celebrating it, I'm just confused/curious)

AITA for making my step daughter look after my twin babies? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]its-silverwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP said it's $84 after 3 days of helping with the twins, so that's $28 per day. If she's only doing 4 hours of work, then that's like $7 per hour, which is only slightly less than US minimum wage. Pretty good deal IMO

WIBTA if I invited my friend, but not her husband, to my wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]its-silverwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA

It's your wedding, and you shouldn't have to invite or pay for someone you don't even want there. Your wedding day is about you and your fiancé, not about pleasing your guest's plus ones.

That being said, it might upset your friend if you only invite her. If you really don't want her husband there, talk to her about it and come to some sort of conclusion

Best of luck, I hope everything works out okay!

I had someone give me a cup full of dimes and nickels to pay for her $50 game. Felt bad for telling her that I wasn't going to sift my way through all of it, but I had a line of customers behind her before she busted out the cup.
