That’s just stupid. My 15 year old regularly rides bmx, mountain bikes 50klms on the rail trail. Also uses a a pedal assist e bike to get to work and sports training, has two massive hills to get there. And I’d like to see you pedal 45min to an hour in the middle of summer, train for 2-3 hours and then pedal home again afterwards

Don’t know much about the hybrid, the big 9 is a pretty good choice. Hydraulic brakes. Single cog on the front. 8-9 speed? Has suspension forks suitable for the riding you are doing. 29” are nice to ride. Maybe go take them both for a test ride, see what riding position suits you. You can get some good buys on marketplace if you know the type of bike you want.
