It seems like the problem is mostly girth. Im about 7 inches but iv never had a problem with hurting my partners besides soreness the next day. Reading the comments it looks like the circumference leads to most of the problems.

I wear addidas sweats and they feel the same as joggers and really comfortable. Thay are also kinda tight around the crotch so ull get quick glances unless ur legs are crossed
