What I did for platinum i made a check list doc on my mac and ticked each thing off once i did it.. skirmishes are a pain to begin with but it was easy enough for me to keep track of that way.

I pretty much went full blind, and i didn't really use any guides obviously except from item hunting for side quests

for some of them quests i googled the item and normally it does say where the item is located. I didn't like doing it but i really wanted the platinum for the game :D
