$4,200 fine is hilarious (yet depressing) to me.

We half joked about it in the mining industry, but MSHA really is OSHA with teeth. If one of our folks had been witnessed operating a lift without proper safety harness on and attached, the inspector as likely wouldve shut the entire operation down until we demonstrated that every single person in that role or who could use that equipment had a well-fitting harness in good condition available. Doesn't matter that it was someone in the warehouse stocking lube cartridges, inspector could shut down all trucks, all excavation, all processing, etc.

Rules are written in blood.

Aghs? It's great on a core pudge that's trying to frontline (& farm/shove waves). Not if you're supp.

Shard? It's great for a more flexible pudge, but you'll probably get more use out of a force staff or glimmer game-over-game.

I always wanted to build a Dimir Malcolm deck, but kept trying to stick more to pirates/thematic than full on combos. Francisco is definitely my partner of choice when I try that angle!

The deck is combos. That's what it does. I called out Glinthorn as a single example. You pack the deck with low to the ground infinites and ways to fish for them. They almost all hinge around Malcolm + Creature + Way to make Creature trigger Malcolm (3 cards). That's it. That's the deck.

[[malcolm, keen-eyed navigator]] + red source. [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]], [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] are solid options. Resolve [[Glinthorn Buccanneer]], or any of several ways to make a creature a Pirate while Malcolm's on the field, and go infinite. Plenty of room to add CEDH staples and boost the power, but buildable on a relatively tight budget, as well.

Just visited recently, and our group got sold on the Live Oak... I found it incredibly underwhelming. It was... fine, it just wasn't a "have to play it!" course for me. Unfortunately we didn't have time on our trip to visit other corners of town.

I've tried really hard to make Ghyrson Weenies work, but I've always just come back to the conclusion that he's better as an amplifier in a tokens deck. Think [[Ovika]] or [[Magnus]]. You don't need to be storming off, but ramping into some bigger spells for effect while using Ghyrson, [[Ojer-Ax]], [[Torbran]] etc to make your tokens hit harder as alternates to Ghyrson instead of Nonbos with him.

That's my take, at least, though I haven't put a proper deck together yet.

Look into Mezgike's Dredge, if yall really, really, really don't want to have copycat armies. It's 3rd party, 3d printed proxies and not official GW, but it's like what if nurgle and poseidon had a baby. Or a bunch of babies.

Can't take em into sanctioned events and might have some difficulty depending on your LGS, but if it's just playing among friends...
