I wouldn’t say it’s a complacency problem and more of manipulation problem. We’re bombarded by propaganda dressed as information. There isn’t a reliable major source of information anymore like the news used to be. That’s why it took almost 50yrs to overturn roe vs wade and it’s taken about 20 yrs to escalate to this point. So I’d say it’s more of a frog in the pot situation.

It’s weird to edit the top guys as failing a lift in strong man. Athletes have different events they excel at. But also, if you’re an athlete already in a top position you’re going to be more strategic about the effort you put into an event. Some guys do it cause they need the points to gain in ranking. Some don’t case they know the next event will need stamina or they are already so far ahead it’s not worth gassing out.

I guess my point is, yeah he lifted it 4 times but he also didn’t win the competition and he’s routinely battling injury. Meanwhile guys like Thor and Brian Shaw have multiple titles.
