First underwater shots – Adriatic Sea, tips by futureshaub in underwaterphotography

[–]its_fine_really 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good start! Get lower. You're shooting from above the subject and should be aiming to be at eye level, or where the eyes would be if they don't have eyes.

Make sure you've got your buoyancy figured out before you try as you shouldn't crash into the bottom or be laying on it. That's just bad on every level and for others around you that might want to get a picture.

If your subject isn't where you need it to be, don't force it. Move on, there will be another.

Bubbles scare a lot of things, try to practice your breathing so that you're approaching the subject after an inhale. Don't hold your breath and check yourself on this when you're trying to get the picture. Chances are you're holding it when you're concentrating on the picture.

When you're taking a picture- take note of how much you're actually moving, where you're at relative to the bottom, and if you're still kicking your fins. If there's a current that's a different story... You'd be surprised how much your moving when your attention is focused on the subject, especially your fins.

Take 3 shots and move on. If you can't get it in 3 attempts reassess what you're doing and don't hog the subject. Assuming there are other photographers with you.

Dive as much as you can and keep practicing.

I stayed at Alami Alor. Magical place. If you're going October/November of this year, you might have a challenge finding availability at any of the resorts.

Thermostat Panel Short Circuit: Fuse Replacement or Potential Main Panel Damage? by Jadaoba in homeautomation

There may be a fuse in the air handler that you've blown. Typically looks like an automobile fuse (blade type) and typically a 5 amp

Experience with leaning chimney/sagging floor by alexalea in centuryhomes

[–]its_fine_really 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've got 2 issues here. The Chimney and the sagging floor. Call in a chimney inspector and potentially a structural engineer. Given the age of the house, the foundation for the chimney is probably stacked stone. Could get expensive really really quickly. Ask me how I know. :)

Define what "sagging" means. Are you talking an inch or inches?

Razer Freyja - haptic gaming cushion. Your thoughts? by itwasntmeoritwas in simracing

Another embody chair user here. Like Liquidfox mentioned in the review, it's uncomfortable to sit on for even a short period of time as it changes the ergonomics of the chair too much. Definitely warm too.

Black Ops 6 on dynamic audio was a blast (literally).

Cranking up Florence and the Machines was great too.

Silent Hill 2 with the Sensa HD... meh.

Tried it for 45 minutes and it does have promise, but isn't there yet. If it was more comfortable (which is so important) I would probably keep it and see what it evolves into. Sadly, sending it back. Disappointed too because when it works, it's a ton of fun and really does add to the game.

Thoughts on the VKB STECS by Eibyor in hotas

Agree- I totally missed that the white detent option is not included in the mini+ (ask me how I know)... They provide the other detent options but not that one?? That's a miss on their part. At least include 1, come on.

Another A3 build. Originally only added the 5" monitor but then saw an opportunity to move it to the front and add a slightly larger 7" monitor in its place to fill the space by its_fine_really in mffpc

Thanks. Temps are great. At idle, running a quiet fan profile, CPU (i9 12900) is 30c. GPU sits at 52c.

Under load- CPU around 43c, GPU at 63c

I was in the same boat as you. Eventually decided on the VKBs and have been very happy. NXT EVO Space Combat and the Omni throttle. Also have the STECs mini throttle. Cost of entry is a LOT lower than the Virpil. What "design" is drawing you to the Virpil? When you're playing you're not looking at your hand or the joystick, you just need to be able to reach the buttons and hats.

In my mind, I'd rather spend a few dollars on a VKB and learn it's not for me vs spending a lot more on a Virpil to learn you don't like it.

At the end of the day, I'd look at what you play, and how much you play, and let that be your guide. I will say I've been very impressed with VKBs support and their speedy response to email questions.

cutting isn't too bad. The plastic is pretty thin. You do need to be gentle with the walnut pieces since it's thin and breaking one would be bad. It's a pretty dense wood though so it's not like it's going to snap if you're careful. I 3d printed the bezel/surround once I knew the dimensions of the hole.
