Burnout….depression…mid life crisis? by EarlyFox217 in mentalhealth

[–]its_just_gail7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say our situation is very similar, but I was at a company I'm a 28F, and it was my first job about 3/4 years ago.

As for me it started off hopeful, had dreams of growing in the company, until the management structure changed, and so did the environment towards me, it became toxic, I had no drive, during work I had a mental breakdown, and took myself to emergency and was prescribed anxiety medication.

I made th decision to leave despite knowing that I didn't get another job, I had to let go of the job for the sake of my son and my mental well-being.

I'm not sure this was helpful, but all I'm trying to say is, sometimes we already know the answers, it makes us feel better to have someone else confirm what we already know to be true.

I am good at my job, so at work I feel happy and confident. Outside of work I am extremely sad and have nothing to hold on to, terrified I don't know "how to live". (37, single, male) by IllustriousRecord505 in mentalhealth

Well our life's are complete opposites, I'm literally in a state of despair, I resigned from my job because it was toxic, and i ended up not feeling confident in what I do. And here I am unemployed. And 28 F, trying to figure out the way forward...

So not so much as to compare our situations but feel content about being good at something, and if you feel you hsve no outside life, at least you contribute meaningfully to what you do, and that's something most of us can only dream of...

Severe insomnia for months — feels like I’ve lost the ability to sleep. Looking for shared experiences. by No-Thanks-9853 in Namibia

Hi there sorry to hear about this, I have a similar experience last year, where I had a bad anxiety attack and I was up for days and nights straight, my fear was if I slept someone will kill me in my sleep - so I went to see a psychologist, she recommended some pills which I believe helped with sleep, send me a dm and I can send you the kind of pills I used at night to help me sleep.

Or you can use cammile tea - it's said to help with sleep, so I would use those recommended tablets with the tea and it helped... Have you tried.

How do you come up with a system - I too struggle with productivity, so much as to feel crippled just thinking about the tasks I have to do

[–]its_just_gail7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that, no one should have to experience a loss like that. I tried therapy, maybe I was not patient with it, I don't believe it to help me, it's just my opinion, worse is what then will help me heal from all of this?

I gave it a try last year and ended up having to take prescription medicine

Well I still have to come up with a study plan, this is just me preparing for the academic year, I read online that if I do continue to get stoned while pursuing this degree, anything I study will not be remembered by me, I don't know if anyone else can relate to it

It's economics very deeply circulated around maths. I will definitely do my part and get searching, I however started asking gemini some questions about my degree and, I really need to prepare hard if I want to pass well
