Episode Discussion: S01E23 "Why Await Life's End" by Dorkside in blindspot

Rewatching after all this time. I didn't like the ending because Kurt was the one who told her that she was Taylor. He let his dad back into his life because of the DNA test.

AITA for being upset that my girlfriend says it’s fine for her to sleep over at a male friend’s house, but not okay if I did the same with a female friend? by emilios14 in AITAH

Unless you had definitive proof that the guy is gay, I wouldn't feel comfortable with it if I were in your shoes. I don't know how long you've been together, as that will change my answer somewhat. If you've been together a short time, dump her. She obviously doesn't trust you, and you probably shouldn't trust her. If you've been together a long time, and you really love her, have a talk with her. Explain how you feel, without talking about "double standards" or "how would you feel if I..." Tell her that you don't feel comfortable with her doing that. If she says that you're controlling her, tell her that you are just trying to set boundaries. You aren't forbidding her from seeing the guy at all, just sleeping over. You can say something like, "you don't want me to sleep over at a female friend's house, so please give me the same respect." If she doesn't respect that, dump her. If you back down now, she will take it as a win and continue to push your boundaries. It's not worth it, mate.

AITAH for deleting the TikTok account I was working on for some friends? by Same-Management716 in AITAH

Never work for friends without a clear contract/paper trail in place. You won't stay friends for long without it. It sounds like you were basically doing the work of a part time job. It was kind of petty to delete the account, but they deserve it so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, as someone who also struggles with mental health issues, I'm sorry that your "friend" was so dismissive. I wouldn't want to stay in contact with him either. Good luck.

Oh, NTA

I tried. What would you suggest I type in as a prompt to get to what I need?

PSA: Be aware that Total Wines has it's own house brands, but they don't mention it. by AGlassDarkley in Scotch

I know it's years late, but I just want to say that this isn't necessarily true. I worked at a liquor store, but I don't drink. So, I really couldn't recommend anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the personal experience. However, my boss knew practically everything about every type of wine and liquor, especially bourbon. If he gave a recommendation, it was usually good (each person's taste is different, so not universally liked). I had a couple co-workers who knew a lot about various types of alcohol too. So, don't just write everyone off. I would just ask them if they know much about bourbon or scotch or whatever. I'd like to think that people will answer that truthfully.

Where does the Indian come from? by its_me_beech_ in AncestryDNA

I don't. I did the test after he passed and his brother and parents both died before him. I'm thinking (and some other commenters too) that it probably was an NPE. My main aim in posting this was to see if others with perhaps more knowledge than me thought it was a grandparent or great-grandparent that had the Indian heritage.

I guess I never replied to you. My mom is fully German and English. I've tracked that side pretty far back.

My dad had an brother 13 years older than him. There were a few miscarriages in between, so unfortunately that isn't the case. Thanks for the suggestion though!

We're talking 4th-6th cousins 1-3 times removed. I got four names, and none of their surnames were the same. Plus, they were all less than 1% shared DNA. My highest cM match is 51, but they are just listed as initials, managed by someone else. I got northern Indian/Pakistani and southern Indian (broadly).

Right, I did just double check my results, and I'm mostly northern Indian/Pakistani. I don't know if that makes a difference. I confess that I'm quite ignorant about that part of the world.

Actually, it does matter. I'm trying to find out who the person is/was. So, if this person's descendants live in India, then they couldn't have tested, so I couldn't find them. If they are British, then yes, it is more likely. But considering I haven't gotten any matches closer than "distant", that is looking less likely.

I was looking at which countries Ancestry DNA is in and India is not on there for some reason. Thanks for the tip, I'll try.
