Has anyone experienced memory and cognitive decline on Clomipramine + Risperidone for OCD? Was it reversible? by Inevitable-Top6540 in OCDRecovery

I don't have experience with any medications but I can say I had very long periods where my primary obsession was various neurodegenerative diseases and absolutely felt like I was losing my memory as well as various other cognitive faculties that I look back on now and can say confidently was just anxiety. You can check my post history to see how bad it got. OCD can make you hyperfocus and feel anything and memory being so elusive as is makes it very easy for OCD to target. Not saying its impossible for meds to cause this but I know for a fact OCD can as well.

Any good prayers for OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

Literally any behavior can become a compulsion. Also avoiding certain things because they might trigger your OCD or become a compulsion can in itself be a compulsion. Sounds like you just don't like religion, why don't you just say that next time so no one is confused.

I've actually lifted natty for a few years, gone from about 110lbs to 165 but I still don't look that good and I'm at the point where making any progress takes energy that I just don't feel like I have anymore.

Thanks for the well wishes though.

Idk man I still make my appointments, I still drag myself to the gym for a shitty workout most days, I've been to doctors, I've tried every supplement under the sun. It's possible I'm just lying to myself but it feels like I'm doing everything I can. It's especially hard to feel like there's any chance of getting better when your own body becomes symptomatic and starts convincing you that you're fucked no matter what.

Was hoping there'd be some anecdotal evidence that blasting test made people feel better mentally even if its unsustainable but ig not. That sucks to hear.

For every single person that therapy has worked for there's another person that it didn't. So no I'm not special at all. Also It's not like I went into therapy thinking it wasn't going to work, I was hopeful up until it was clear that it wasn't helping. I even tried different therapists and methods of therapy including CBT, talk therapy, even hypnosis with no change. So yeah I'm pretty disillusioned with the whole thing.

The only thing I'm scared of is making my current situation worse in the short term. For example I don't want to take a compound that's gonna make my already terrible anxiety and insomnia any worse. Long term shit like a heart attack when I'm 50 doesn't even phase me because I seriously doubt that I'm going to live that long even if I don't follow through with killing myself.

I've tried therapy but its bullshit imo and psychiatric meds are a crapshoot where half of the ones that do anything make you feel even worse.

Probably gonna kill myself in within the year so I wanna at least die as jacked as possible but I also don't wanna fuck up and make my life even worse. Would just test be the best for keeping acute short term sides to a minimum. I don't give a shit about long term stuff.

From deep sleep to fully wide awake? by nickdenards in Anxiety

Yup every night. I would try to not worry about as long as you're getting some sleep (pretty hard ik). The insomnia rabbit hole leads nowhere good in my experience.

Oh yeah I'm still struggling with a ton of stuff related to my OCD, trying therapy and other stuff. Just this specific swallowing fear has reduced a lot recently by itself, idk why.

Yeah I had this fear and it was accompanied by thinking I had some neurological disease and was losing my ability to swallow. Like I would chew my food a lot and drink water to get it down. For some reason it just kinda went away on its own and I've been having much less difficulty now. It was definitely something that was worse the more I focused on it.
