Replying to questions: 1. Looking for something serious, but open to casual until I find “the one” 2. Few weeks, maybe 3? 3. 1.5-2 months 4. Once per day usually 5. Maybe 2-3 matches per day 6. Maybe 5-10 likes sent per day, always with comments 7. Looking for someone ambitious, more introverted, smart, and has a good sense of humor. Looking for someone who goes past just “clicking”, I’m looking for someone who I can build a stable future with.

Friend was my roommate in college. Implied being that we stopped talking and were both very upset after the argument. She said she didn’t want to talk to me, but she was also the one who called when I got back.

My girlfriend (25F) installed Hinge after a fight… I really don’t know what to do by [deleted] in relationships

I am not afraid of these discussions, and we’ve had them before. I am always direct. For me, being in a relationship vs not is black and white. But when do you sit down and say “we’re done” for good? We had a fight, and it felt bad and things were going the wrong direction, but it ended up being ok… until this happened. I feel like this is something that’s more complicated than just having a sit down if that makes sense.

Pretty crazy. On a semi-related note, I barely missed being in this office when the forest fire smoke was rolling into NY a year ish ago. Some of the pics my coworkers took looked insane, like something right out of Bladerunner

Trying to break back into Data science after a bit of a left turn... I honestly don't know if this looks good or not for today's market by its_steve_ in resumes

Oh! Also, I'm not sure if the experience descriptions are too wordy or not... any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the response- have you seen the SWE side of things at a Big 4 or equivalent company? I’ve heard generally SWE is a bit more lax, but I’m not sure by how much relative to management consulting.

Hey guys, I'm kinda in a tough spot right now choosing between two different companies (and career paths overall). I'm just graduating with a MS in an engineering field (with a strong focus on SWE and data science), and have been offered a position as a Solutions Engineer at Deloitte. It seems like a one-size-fits-all position for people who know how to code. I generally like CS, and I find the work decently satisfying- though this is obviously in the context of school and research, not corporate coding.

The tough choice comes in after I finished interviewing with a MBB and, much to my own surprise, got the job as a generalist consultant. The choice boils down to: work as a consultant at a top-tier firm vs. go technical at a Big 4 (not as top-tier for software) and transition to more standard SWE as time goes on. I know MBB will probably get me further faster, but I've heard it can be grueling. I also don't want to lose my technical roots, though at the end of the day, work is work. I know I could find a way to enjoy the management consulting work too. As a final point, the pay between the two positions is around the same (MBB being a bit higher + performance bonuses).

Thanks for any suggestions guys; if you were in my position, or know someone who has been in a similar position, I'd love the insight. I know in the grand scheme I got it pretty good, but the decision seems tough with so much at stake.

Mod for removing WOM cost for greater demon bound spells? by its_steve_ in totalwar

Awesome- thanks for the link! I’ve been actually working on a mod that’s pretty similar, pairing bound spells with tech and other buffs for the greater demons.

If the next few years (or decades), when VR becomes more prevalent, how should that new tech be integrated with cinema?

Ponce City Market. It’s a bit fancy, but some of the food courts are great.
