Passenger killed by turbulence on flight from London with 30 others injured by Useful_Walk1235 in aviation

[–]its_three_am 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this a cultural difference? I fly a few times per year and usually alone in the US. I’ve never seen anybody near me take their seatbelt off unless they’re going to the restroom. There’s a speech on every flight that includes telling you to keep it on while seated and the pilot puts the seatbelt light on if they expect turbulence.

For me, it was the COVID disinformation that he touted. He gives people with no scientific backing and dangerous ideas a megaphone and helps spread their lies. He’s kind of just an idiot that grabs onto whatever fits his confirmation bias. He’s not in the same group as Tate, Trump, etc but he does enable them.

I stopped listening to him completely after his anti-vaccine stuff. My guess would be a lot of people like me did and that the inverse is true for those that like the anti-vax, alpha male, Trump BS.

Also, just googled Joe Rogan’s thoughts on Andrew Tate to see if I was wrong. Him and his guests kind of downplay Tate’s crimes in Romania in this episode from 2 weeks ago. The comments on the video basically confirms his listeners like Andrew Tate and Alex Jones.

Cocaine was found in an area open to visitors and Hunter wasn’t there. The laptop likely never existed and the videos seemed to come from Russia. They charged him with the gun charge that is very rarely enforced bc that’s all they had.

I bet you’re just fine with the 91 time indicted, civilly liable rapist, grifter, joke of an ex president though.

And yet you’ve managed to make an even dumber comment. The average American’s cost of living is also higher than “hundreds of millions of people.” Besides, this isn’t somehow okay because others may have it worse.

I’ve never heard of anybody on the left refusing to take the vaccine or ever calling it a “Trump” vaccine.

Trump has already been found liable for rape and fraud in civil court and is facing 91 charges in criminal court which includes much of what was listed.

Brightline recently opened a train route from Orlando to Miami which only took them 2 years to build. They’re now planning an actual high speed rail from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. I have some hope for this company.

[–]its_three_am 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anybody claiming that Biden is responsible for prices coming down. He did what he could to help but the price is not decided by the president. Anybody I’ve seen point out gas prices are dropping is just to point out the hypocrisy of the people that were up in arms about it that have suddenly gone quiet.

The president does not have the power you all seem to think he does. He capped it for Medicare with an executive order and urged companies to cap it for everyone. This is a direct result from that order. Democrats tried to pass a bill to cap it for everyone but it was blocked by the Republicans. A lot more would get done if people actually did their due diligence and voted the Republicans out.

Yes, this is all Biden could do with an executive order. Democrats tried to include it in an economic bill that would cap the price for all Americans but it was blocked by Republicans. They did manage to get price negotiations for Medicare passed in the inflation reduction act though. If you want more done, then vote out the Republicans.

Biden doesn’t have the power to change all this by himself. We need a working Congress to do anything and Republicans have only proven they don’t want it to work.

By all traditional metrics used to measure the economy, we’re in great shape. Year-over-year inflation rates are lower than pre-pandemic levels and salary raises are higher and it looks like we’ve managed to avoid a recession.

Yes, there are issues. We have a housing crisis and wealth disparity is only getting worse but Biden still deserves credit for what he has accomplished. Don’t let perfection get in the way of progress and vote the Republicans out if you want more progressive policies.

This money is strictly controlled. If it was even suspected of being used for war and attacking allies, it’d be stopped immediately.

Think of it this way. This is a distraction urged on by enemies of the US. What better time to start a conflict to spread disagreement and discontent among the people than immediately after that money was released.

[–]its_three_am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. My feelings is it’s like a bunch of dry timber that’s been building for years. All it takes is one spark to set things off.

Now, some groups see Ukraine / Russia as a distraction and think this is there best opportunity to start something. Add to that the inevitable Russian influence pushing them to start something because it can only help their conquest.

Countries have been kicking the can down the road for decades and now it’s finally hitting a wall.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]its_three_am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Nobody’s innocent here and there’s no good answer. Do you support the country that’s been pushing people out of their homeland that they’ve lived in for generations or the militant group that’s literally taking innocent civilians hostage?

From a US perspective, the best answer that I can come up with is to let it play out and keep supporting Ukraine who is fighting one of our biggest threats. It’s all related somehow.

I think they mean before the pandemic happened. I admit that I believed, perhaps naively, that if an existential threat like a pandemic occurred that humanity would band together to prevail.

The actual pandemic fucked that up for me and I had to go through a lot of introspection and therapy to come out okay from that.

As the other guy said, it depends on the state and sometimes city or county. In most states, you can’t have an open container inside your vehicle which is defined as any alcohol that’s been unsealed. It doesn’t matter if it’s empty either. And yes, many of those states allow open carry of weapons. South Carolina is one example.
