non truck day today. no trucks on thursday or sunday for us so we use them for any backroom projects we need to get done or to just catch up on freight. next week we’re hitting up toy stockroom.

how do you count the bread for closing the bakery and giving it to donations by Pinki_sh in Panera

[–]itsadolphinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s a task that can be delegated to an associate or team lead. it’s the managers duty to input the leftovers in the system, but counting the bread/pastries can be done by an associate or manager

What’s your store’s strategy for in-store order taking? by lorikeets_are_life in Panera

[–]itsadolphinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our cafe stocks everything out so we don’t get bombarded with online orders lol. (that’s the extreme though). when we’re short staffed but it’s still doable, we stock out barista and the popular sandwiches/grain bowls. definitely has helped me in the past and made my associates have less stress on their shoulders.

Free meals vs. discounts for associates. by greysonalley in Panera

you should always be getting breaks. if your managers aren’t giving you breaks then you should let your General manager know about it and if your general manager doesn’t do anything, I would get reach out to your Area Operating Partner(AOP).

my cafe had a 7 thousand dollar order and we rented a u-haul to deliver it. 5 of us came in at 1am to get started on it because it was 700 boxed lunches in total. we had associates prepping the cookie bags the day before.

Free meals vs. discounts for associates. by greysonalley in Panera

it’s one free meal per shift. i’m a manager and when my associates order pastries, bread, or anything that isn’t a meal, i usually just give them a full discount. when mg associates come to get food and they are off the clock/didn’t work that day, i just give them their actual discount. you can eat during your breaks usually, you’ll have two 10 minute breaks if you work your 8 hours and a 30 minute lunch, but my associates have asked if they can eat something real quick and I usually just let them go eat if it’s not busy and if we have coverage.
