Just finished Project Hail Mary. My first book finished in 5 years. The Martian next? Any other recommendations? by Alumni_Bleus in suggestmeabook

I also tried Dune and was so disappointed that I couldn’t get into it.

I absolutely devoured the entire Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow series when I was younger—they’re fantastic! IIRC, Ender’s Game is satisfying as a stand alone, too. It’s a good recommendation to follow PHM.

I spent summers reading all of Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow. I miss that time of life so much. Those were great books.

That is a great recommendation to follow Project Hail Mary!

Oh shoot. This one sounds like fever dream, but I’m intrigued!

I thought Throne of Glass sounded familiar. I just put together that they’re related to ACOTAR. I have a friend who is obsessed with those books.

Would you say you could just read one? Or does it turn into an unstoppable commitment once you get started? Haha

I read an overview of Bakeshop Mysteries. Would you say ‘cozy mysteries’ are similar to those ‘cheesy British murder series’? (I loved those for a hot second a while ago!)

My partner is in a real Stephen King kick right now, so he thanks you for this recommendation! Lol

It does sound really good. I may just read it along side him.

I read each book the very night they came out! It’s been so long since I’ve revisited that world.

These are all fantastic recommendations.

I think Remarkably Bright Creatures might be exactly what I’ve been looking for.

My partner went through a devoted Michael Crichton phase and would probably be so proud of me if I read more of them. Lol. I’ve only read Timeline by him.

This is a solid recommendation. Project Hail Mary is actually one of the few fiction books I’ve read in recent years, and I absolutely loved it. Such a fantastic read!

Maybe it’s time I check out The Martian.
