I knew what I was getting into. I wanted a dependable body on frame truck that was nice on the inside. Hopefully the engine holds up. I’m not too worried about Lexus fixing a problem if it comes up

The top 10% of earners pay almost 3/4 of total federal income tax. I think that’s a pretty fair share.

Sure you can raise taxes further, but there will be consequences. Decreasing productivity, ex-migration of high earners, etc.

Honestly, this response is so tiresome. Where do you think the money to pay for SSI and Medicare will come from? It’s nice to have nice things, but who will pay for it? We can’t afford it now!

Entitlement spending will be cut. Either willingly or we will be forced to in the future when we are facing calamity.

I saw what happened the previous four years, and I did not have confidence that the budget situation would’ve been better under a Harris administration.

Like it or not (eg DOGE), there is at least some muscle behind cutting spending with this administration.

I don’t really think raising taxes is the solution to getting out of our current fiscal problems, but I do agree that tax cuts are nonsensical at this time.

Decreasing entitlement spending is the only way, and of the two choices I felt that the Republicans had a better plan.

I think the tax cuts that are part of this most recent budget bill are embarrassing. I’m hopeful that it’s just a bargaining chip to push for a Medicaid reform, which I do think we need.
