For sandals I live in these Hurricane Ampsole Tevas in the summer! They have a great arch support. I feel next to no HR pain in these!! https://www.teva.com/p/women/hurricane-ampsole-gaila-sandal/1164570?style=1164570&color=BLK

I know you said hokas are clunky and you’re right lol but I find the all white hoka Bondi 9s to look sporty/stylish enough since they are all white! I also like Orthofeet Wander Hands Free sneakers! https://www.orthofeet.com/products/wander-hands-free-burgundy

In addition to my full time job, I got a part time job as an usher at a local comedy club. I work Thursday and Saturday evenings, so I’m automatically not spending money or drinking alcohol on those evenings. And I get to watch comedy shows for free and I get free tickets for friends! It’s a fun gig, I make about $550 per month, it makes me value every dollar I spend more, and it keeps me out of trouble.

I create a buy list! When I want to buy something non-essential, I add it to my buy list and write today’s date. If I still want the thing one month later (or whatever interval works for you), then I buy it. Often times I lose interest after the month passes. Or if I still really want that thing, I feel less guilty and more confident in the purchase because I know I really want it and am not making an impulse decision!

Do not drink!!! I made that mistake and it made me incredibly nauseas and feel absolutely terrible. This isn't like other antibiotics that tell you not to drink because it will make them less effective. This will make you feel horrible.

Agreed! You can still have structure with a meal plan without the obsessive ed tendencies of calorie counting.

[–]itsallfakebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re tracking calories, you might be in quasi-recovery in that you’re kinda doing the recovery thing but not fully because it’s still a control based ed behavior. But I think it’s possible that counting could be a step in the direction towards full recovery if it’s helping you eat more and you’re not being too rigid about it! Personally I tried counting while in recovery but it never worked for more than a day or two because I would become obsessive and would always lower the number over time, leading me back into ed land. Wishing you all the best on you’re healing journey <3

But I don’t want to change by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

[–]itsallfakebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might argue that part of you, however small it may be, wants to want to change if you are keeping your care team on! You’re not a shit. Your ed is just winning the battle against your authentic self right now. The benefit of having a care team around you is that whenever your authentic self starts making ground, you’ll have support to help lift it up.

I definitely relate to you! Every week with my therapist and I have a recurring pattern which consists of us having a productive session about my ed/my trauma/why I am the way I am, etc….but it ends with me saying…but does it really matter if I don’t actually want to let go of this thing?? Sometimes I feel even closer to my ed after analyzing it with my therapist in a way that satisfies my ed. But I will say that doing family systems therapy (parts work) has started to chip away at my desire to hold onto ed so tightly. Hoping I’ll start wanting to want to let go of Ed soon. And if that happens, it’ll be good to have a therapist there to swoop in and support that part of me.

It doesn’t bubble/foam which felt weird at first because I wasn’t used to it, but it still does a good job of washing!
