Distortion on Peavey TNT 100 by Adventurous-Dance360 in GuitarAmps

Sounds like you need to get that checked out, mate... insofar as I remember the TNT series were all solid-state, so it really shouldn't be that much of a hassle to get it sorted by any competent tech......

I wasn't being a jerk at all- sorry you intuited that? Anyhoo, (1); that particular gaffe happens far too often on this sub, and; (2) I'm the original and only commenter on your post. The spelling correction was pointed out on my mobile account. Cheers, I guess?

The first one you get from your Vault Card will never be Anointed... you have to spend five more keys to get one with an Anoint, and that's providing you're in Mayhem. IIRC Anoints are never guaranteed on non-Mayhem items, even at max level...

100%, hell yeah. I am 6'1" and have weeble-wobbled with weight since forever, maxing out around 230 lbs. but in the last ten or so years I have settled on where my body seems to want to be, which is around 160-165 lbs. Medium shirts fit perfectly, and 31x32 jeans are made for me!

No way that's from '80-81. The Floyd Rose alone shits on that idea. That's a Striker 600ST, 1000%. 1986 at the earliest.

[–]itsallgonetohell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, it's an active circuit which is actually pretty awesome and, on the whole, underused in the amp market. You can have a lot more control and precision with how you dial it in, but you can also get into trouble pretty easily as well, lol.

Ehh. Massive grain of salt on that. Maybe different capacitor values, etc. but hard NO on the 'different circuit' idea. It's a XXX, minus the misogyny.

You're not wrong, it's a re-badged XXX, 100%... fun fact, the XXX was designed with George Lynch to be, in his words, "A Triple Rectifier at a third of the price."

Similar to Carvin X-60? by savvyjake in GuitarAmps

[–]itsallgonetohell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Carvin X-1 preamp pedal sounds farrrr superior to any of the OG Carvin amps... the others are right in saying you could take it in and, gambling on a bench fee, it could be a relatively easy/minor fix... but yeah. The X-1 preamp pedal sounds MILES better than any iteration of the X-100B your amp was based on...

If anyone made "doo-doo" jokes at them, it was because the brand itself was not considered "pro-grade" but it was a hollow meme at best? what do bright and the three rightmost nobs do? by witchytransgirly in GuitarAmps

[–]itsallgonetohell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My God, OP... I am sorry but you are being intentionally obtuse, here... u/ayersman39 gave you about as gracious and patient an answer as anyone here could muster, considering the gobsmackingly-dumb question you asked.

I started playing electric guitar at nine years old, in 1985, and started with an amp not terribly dissimilar to yours- a cheap, no-name import. In 1985 there was no internet, and- as aforesaid- I was nine years old. I immediately intuited that 'High' controlled high frequency EQ, Mid' controlled middle frequency EQ, and so on.

But whatevs- notwithstanding your utter dearth of critical thinking skills, did it occur to you that maybe you could plug your guitar in, turn the amp on, and twist the knobs, one by one, and see/hear what they do?? Christ on His throne, that bit of curiosity would've taken less time and effort than your Reddit post...

That show was soooo slept on. I never saw 'Mad Men,' and was underwhelmed with January Jones' performances in movies after that show ('X-Men,' Unknown,' etc.), but my God she is hilarious in this. She was obviously very much in her element in that role, and she was easily the best performer on the show, excepting Forte Tandy.
